This Jaguar was dispatched to the U.S. from the factory in Coventry on October 2, 1963. It was purchased new on November 27, 1963 by Mr. Ernest Baldwin of Washington D.C. from Manhattan Auto, the Jaguar dealership at 7th and R Streets in Wash. D.C.. Mr. Baldwin traded in his 1962 Open Two Seater “E” Type which he had purchased new on March 7, 1962 from this same dealership on this coupe. This coupe was next purchased by its second owner, Mr. Robert Stottlemyer of Chevy Chase, MD., on December 1, 1964. He brought the car to his residence in Colorado in 1990. The car has benefited from his continuous care and maintenance over 58 years until his passing in 2022. It is our understanding from speaking with surviving family and friends that in addition to having the body and paint refinished, that the engine and transmission were also rebuilt during his ownership.
