This 1964 Jaguar XKE coupe was acquired by the seller’s late father in California in 2001. The car reportedly was driven by the seller’s father through 2018 and it has since been stored in an Oakland, California garage. In 2002 the car was refinished in a cream white over a black leather interior, and its numbers-matching 3.8L inline-six is paired with a four-speed manual gearbox. Additional equipment includes 15″ wire wheels, a wood-rimmed steering wheel, Smiths instrumentation, and an aftermarket cassette player. This Series I XKE is now offered with a Jaguar Daimler Heritage Trust certificate, service records from 2001 onward, a factory tool set, spare parts, and a clean California title in the seller’s name.

The JDHT certificate indicates that the car was delivered in Opalescent Golden Sand (11), and the seller states that the body was refinished in 2002 at Modern Classic Motors of Oakland, California after the car was rear-ended at a traffic light and pushed into the car ahead of it, causing damage to the front and rear of the Jaguar. The seller reports that the front frame rails were straightened, the car was stripped, the doors and quarter panels were repaired, body filler was used at the front and rear, and some of the trim was replaced.

Chrome 15″ wire wheels are mounted with two-ear Jaguar knock-offs and Vredestein Sprint Classic tires. The paintwork, wheels, and exterior trim are shown in detail in the gallery. The seller notes imperfections including a scuff at the right front corner as well as corrosion in the fuel-filler compartment and on the trunk lid. A walk-around video with the engine running is available here.

The cabin is trimmed in black and has been fitted with an aftermarket Sony cassette player. The bolsters of the seats are worn and have been taped. The seller reports that rust is present in the floorboards and the undersides of the doors. The driver’s door lock is said to be popped out.

The wood-rimmed steering wheel wears the Jaguar crest and sits ahead of Smiths instrumentation that includes a 160-mph speedometer, a 6k-rpm tachometer with an integrated analog clock, and auxiliary gauges. The five-digit odometer shows approximately 29k miles, and true mileage is unknown.

The 3.8-liter inline-six was factory rated at 265 horsepower and 260 lb-ft of torque, which is sent to the rear wheels through a four-speed manual transmission. The seller states that the car has been started regularly but has been driven only a few times over the past few years.

The engine-block stamping reads RA4429-9, as does the cylinder-head stamping. This number matches the information on the data plate as well as on the JDHT certificate.

Service records are said to date back to 2001, when the seller’s father acquired the car. A box of spare parts as well as a factory tool set will also accompany the car.

The Jaguar Daimler Heritage Trust certificate states that the car was manufactured on November 28, 1963 and also lists the original powertrain numbers, color scheme, and distributor.
