ORIGINAL MATCHING NUMBER ENGINE, THE BUILD DATE WAS JANUARY 6TH , 1964 AND DATE OF DISPATCH WAS JANUARY 22ND 1964 TO JAGUAR CARS OF NEW YORK AND WAS SOLD NEW TO EVANSTON ILLINOIS .
A VERY SOLID CAR.
IT HAS BEEN SITTING IN DRY STORAGE ABOUT THE LAST 5 YEARS AND USED VERY LITTLE OVER THE LAST DECADE.
IT INCLUDES ORIGINAL DUNLOP ROAD SPEED SPARE TIRE , FACTORY TOOL ROLL, KNOCK OFF HAMMER, FACTORY KEYS AND OWNERS MANUALS.
THE EXTERIOR OF THE CAR WAS REPAINTED 30+ YEARS AGO, IT IS A SHADE OFF FROM AN EXACT MATCH, SLIGHTLY LESS GOLD. LOOKS GREAT FROM 20 FEET, CLOSE INSPECTION WILL SHOW SMALL IMPERFECTIONS , SCRATCHES, CHIPS, ETC, INDICATIVE OF AN ORIGINAL UN -RESTORED CAR BUT QUITE PRESENTABLE AS A DRIVER .
THE CAR STARTS ON THE BUTTON, VERY GOOD OIL PRESSURE, NO SMOKE. GOOD CLUTCH, VERY SLIGHT BRAKE FADE, LIKELY FROM LACK OF USE ( NEEDS TO BE DRIVEN ).
ALL LIGHTS, DIRECTIONALS, HIGH BEAMS, HORN, WIPERS AND GAUGES ARE IN GOOD WORKING ORDER.
ALL CHROME IS ORIGINAL AND VARIES FROM EXCELLENT ORIGINAL TO SLIGHTLY PITTED.
OVERALL THIS IS A NICE ORIGINAL CAR ...
IF YOU WANT A RESTORED CAR THIS IS NOT FOR YOU, IT IS FOR SOMEONE WHO LIKES ORIGINALITY. THE INDICATED MILEAGE IS 86,405 WHICH IS LIKELY ORIGINAL, BUT NOT DOCUMENTED, SO IT IS SOLD AS TRUE MILEGE UNKNOWN.
A GREAT OPPORTUNITY TO ACQUIRE A SOLID, ORIGINAL SERIES ONE, E TYPE COUPE.
