www.simondrabblecars.co.uk/for-sale/1964-jaguar-e-type-racecar
1964 Jaguar E Type initially prepared for racing in 2011 and bought by the current owner in 2017 to fulfil an ambition to participate in historic racing. The car was sent to top Jaguar preparers, Denis Welch Motorsport. Following initial development FIA papers were issued in 2018, expiring in 2028.
Over the course of the next 6 months invoices on file show that Denis Welch further developed the car including rebuilding the gearbox, fitting new internals and bell housing, fitting new fuel tank, brake ducting and new exhaust system; invoices on file over the 6 months period amount to £48,500.
Following an engine failure the car was sent to West Riding Jaguar where £18,500 was spent rebuilding and refreshing the engine. The car was then sent to Valley Motorsport where further redevelopment work was carried out including fitting a new 3.7CWP and LSD, the diff rebuilt and a cooler fitted. Set up work was carried out with new anti-roll bars, bottom arms and torsion bars.
The car was raced at 2019 Donnington Historic where the owner finished 3rd in class and in the midfield overall. Invoices on file show a further £20,000 was spent on the car. Following a fallow 2020 the owner has taken part in 2021 in one Libre race with Equipe GTS and the opening round of Motor Racing Legends Jaguar Classic Challenge at the Donnington Historic Challenge.
The car has been checked over and is race ready. With UK registration and FIA HTP this car is eligible for the Jaguar Classic Challenge, Equipe GTS, GTSCC, HSCC Guards Trophy, HRDC, Le Mans Classic, Masters Gentlemans Drivers and Goodwood and road events such as Tour Auto ad Modena Cento Ore as well as taking it down to the pub!
