Car No: 890630 Engine No. RA 6730-9 Body No. V8338 Gear Box No. EB 14827JS

I purchased this silver with red leather fixed head coupe (not a 2+2) from the estate of the second owner. The purchased the e-type from its original
owner in 1969 and kept it all these years! The car is matching numbers and have been kept original with only a few sensible upgrades. First, he
added air conditioner. If you have ever driven a XKE coupe in the summer you already know that it gets very toasty inside the cabin. I was pleased to
see that the AC unit was very nicely integrated to the interior of the Jaguar and required no modifications of the console or dash areas. The
generator was replaced with an alternator (which is required for the AC) and the anemic single blade radiator fan was replaced with a multi-blade
fan that actually cools the radiator.

In 1997 the car was taken To Vicarage Motors, which are the appointed restorers for the Jaguar Daimler Heritage Trust. The following was done at a
cost of $19,200.

- Replace radiator, all belts and hoses, reaplced cooling fan
- Replace front assembly, front shocks, upper and lower ball joints, upper and lower control arms, replace steering rack boots, outer tie rod ends.
- Rebuilt front calipers, replace front pads and rotors, replace front wheel bearings, replace brake booster
- Renew exhaust system
- Renew entire read end assembly, renew u-joints (this included rear rotors and rear brake calipers)
- Replace fuel lines, battery cables, rewire engine bay
- Reseal leaking engine, replace clutch assembly, replace slave cylinder
- Bonnet repainted to match body color
- Installed new fuel tank, new fuel pump, new header tank, new air cleaner, new heater box assembly
- Install complete new interior, rebuilding teh seats and new spare wheel cover.

Interior: Very nicely done. Still looks nice and fresh after 10 years. Headliner was also replaced and looks like new.
All gauges work (except the clock, which probably stopped in 1965), the air conditioner blows cold.

Body: Body is very solid and 99% rust free. I found a small rust spot on the left side of the bonnet ... just behind the front tire ... see photo.

Bottom of the doors, floors, bonnet lower valance and rocker panels are rust free ... a sure sign that this car was been garaged kept. The paint itself
is probably the weakest part of the whole car. From 20 feet it looks okay but closer you can see many defects. I would say the car was last painted
about 30 years ago. It is no so bad that you have to do it right away, but considering how nice teh interior already is this car would transform itself
with a nice paint job. Chrome appears to be all original and some pieces (such as the bumpers and taillight housings) should be done when the
car is painted.

Mechanicals: Engine is VERY strong, with very good compression (145 psi) and excellent oil pressure. Oil pressure stays in the 40 to 50 psi range
even with engine warm, at idle. There is no engine smoke and, amazingly, no oil leaks. Front suspension and steering feels nice and tight. Brakes
fewel good as so does teh clutch and gearbox. Mechanically I give this car high marks. Tires are Michelling red line and have about 60% of their
thread remaining.

Miscellaneous: Includes many receipts, spare tire and jack.

This Jaguar is ideal for the person looking for a no-stories XKE with a well known history. It can be driven and enjoyed as is, and made better later
on if desired.

After searching for a series 1 coupe for over a year, I purchased the car in Oct. 2010 and had it shipped from Hawaii. Car now resides in rural Virginia. She needs various rubber items - such as weatherstripping but was as described in the ebay listing. Car was heavily upgraded with 5-speed, headers, Wilwood brakes etc., but the original parts came with car, so still have the number's matching gearbox and such in my barn.

1964 Jaguar E-Type Series I 3.8-Litre Coupe

Bearing chassis no. 890630, this sleek, two-place 1964 Jaguar E-Type Series I 3.8-Litre Fixed Head Coupe is understood to have been one of Neil Peart’s favorite “Silver Surfers” car. Provenance includes four decades with the third owner, who purchased it in 1969 from the second owner’s estate. Service invoices date to the early 1980s and, in 1997–1998, the E-Type received a comprehensive mechanical restoration at Vicarage, the Florida-based Jaguar specialists, including a rebuild of the 3.8-litre engine. In 2010, the car was acquired by a new owner, through whom it passed in June 2013 to Mr. Peart, who was seeking a fine and enjoyable E-Type. Under his ownership, the Jaguar was professionally maintained, and it received an exterior refinish in the originally specified Opalescent Silver, over rich red leather upholstery fitted under previous ownership.

Reliability and performance are enhanced by numerous choice and welcome upgrades made over the past several decades, with details and receipts on file, including an updated CJ5 Tremec five-speed manual gearbox, plus a lightweight flywheel, Wilwood disc brakes, low-restriction exhaust header, and uprated suspension components. A wealth of correspondence and documents accompany the Coupe, including service receipts, invoices, technical information and correspondence, plus an original steering wheel, four-speed gearbox, roadside jack, spare, and car cover. As offered, this E-Type is ready to enjoy as intended and stands as a highly desirable example of one of the world’s most beautiful and potent Sports/ GT cars ever built.
