Sellers description:
The example presented here is a southern California black plate car it has been in a personal collection for 20 years. This vehicle was the pride and joy of the previous owner. He recently commissioned a no-expense spared nut-and-bolt restoration. Undergoing 3 years the vehicle was painted twice to insure a impeccable finish, both craftsman and fit is superb by all standards. After investing nearly $100,000 dollars the former owner a Doctor in San Diego found himself reliving his youth with a perfect car he has owned for quite sometime. He told me he only reason for selling his Jag is that when he first bought the car it was low mile and like new, after spending 100k the car is exactly like when he bought it, with sadness in his voice he said he just couldn’t pull himself to drive it anymore it has 3 miles since the car was finished. It was now the goal of the Doctor to deliver the car to it's new owner in the same manner in which he took to possession of the car over 20 years before. You are buying a stunning 1964 Jaguar E-Type Coupe this car is something to be proud of and should remain in your collection enjoying it as you wish for many years to come. YOU WILL NOT FIND A FINER EXAMPLE ON THE MARKET.
Mechanically, the 3.8L engine was rebuilt to factory specs calibrated and balanced the engine and entire car have less then 3 miles on it. Today finishing a 3.8L Jaguar engine to this caliber would cost over $20,000 alone. All new components too much to list including pistons, bearings, valves, guides, seals, etc....and timing, Transmission, brakes, suspension have all been addressed and the car needs absolutely nothing. A stainless steel exhaust was used to amplify the cars penetrating sound. The car drives fantastic and performs as one would expect from a E-type Jag.
Cosmetically the body was stripped to bare metal and finished in a beautiful Gun Metal Gray. During the restoration the owner had noticed the paint getting dull due to time spent on fishing the details. This was discomforting to the client and he had the car repainted one more time before it was put back together. The exterior finish is simply exquisite. Most all chrome was redone and replaced a couple trim areas were not redone due to it already being flawless, and original at that. Bumpers , trim , wheels are like new and compliment the car beautifully.
The interior is fitted with Leather in dark red. The dash is stunning and the gauges look better then new. Dash is relatively flawless and the seats are extremely comfortable. Equipped with telescopic steering, AM/FM radio and seatbelts. This vehicle has a rear compartment for carrying supplies for cruising or luggage for the next tour.
Undoubtedly this is one of the finest E-Type Jaguar Coupes in the country it would be very difficult to find another in this caliber and mechanically sound. It is very rare one person would take the time to restore a Jaguars to this level of concours, that in its self is extremely valuable to any collector looking to purchase the best. The Term " The Best In The World" is used far to often when describing Vintage Cars however...... in this case it is quite possibly applicable here.
