Vehicle Description
A great Barn find!!!!!!! We'll not really it's not a barn just my garage. This is an opportunity to own the classic british sportscar The JAGUAR E-Type Convertible.
This NO RESERVE auction is for a restoration project that I haven't had the time to finish. I'm looking to turn the car into some green (cash). The car is a classic 1969 Jaguar XKE Series Two roadster serial #P1R10450. It is British Racing Green with a biscuit interior. The restoration is 90% complete it is awaiting final assembly. The car currently runs and drives.
I started this project years ago and haven't had the time to finish it. It is the last of several E's that I restored over the last 20 years. The metal work (floors, sills Inner and Outer) have been completed $7500. The 4.2 L 6 cyl engine and 4 speed were rebuilt $6000. Heads by terry's. Crower rods and Jahn's pistons. The rear and front suspension were rebuilt as were the brakes and steering. The car comes with 5 Dayton wire wheels $1600 cost. There is a stainless exhaust system $1000. The wiring and dash are complete. The car needs a new interior kit ( carpet, seat covers, and a top.) The door panels and locks have been installed. The Door, Bonnet, winshield chrome is great. The front and rear bumpers need to be rechromed. The bonnet needs body work there is a big dent in the front of the nose. It then needs paint.
Basically what you are buying is a classic e-type roadster that is 90% restored. A project that I have probably invested over $40,000 in. Your loss is my gain. The car needs someone that has the time and some basic mechanical skills to put it back on the road. Most of the investment has already been done. The only investment required of you would be time. There is probably 100-150hours needed to turn this into a nice XKE.
This would make a great project for this fall and winter. You can register and drive this car around this fall and finish the restoration this winter just in time for next spring. It would make a great father and son project. Hey, that's how I got addicted.
