Kensington MG Auction, Bridgehampton NY, 5/25/2002, Lot #3. Report:

Four-speed. Metallic paint is very dull, some chips on hood edge. Bubbling and scratches complete the paint. Sony AM/FM stereo, wood steering wheel. Chrome is flaking on windshield trim. Interior is decent, but not excellent. A driver.

I purchased this car in Nov., 2002 - probably paid too much :) Runs well - I drove it from NY to DC , and have driven it sparingly since. Definitely a lot of surface rust under the carpet and paint, but very little actual damage. It will need a complete bare metal restoration, which will be done this spring. At least I'll be able to just do the body first, and do the driveline later. Everything is fairly solid. JDHT certificate in process.

Spam prevention question (must be answered):
The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
