Ebay item 6/4/07 cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Jaguar-E-Type-XKE-2-2-4-2-Liter-inline-6-dry-climate-sol ...
Current bid $1,970 reserve not met, 1 bid, 6 days left in auction. 34k miles.
Sellers description:
An exceptionally solid and dry climate example, 1970 Jaguar XKE 2+2 Coupe with the last year produced and highly desirable, and far more reliable 4.2 Liter six cylinder motor.
Just released from a long term indoor storage, this one has potential. Exceptionally solid and dry climate body, and a recently rebuilt engine makes this fabulous example very close to a very high quality driver quality example and price accordingly. Documents will verify extensive maintanence, rebuild and repair throughout the years. In our opinion, addressing major maintenance and service such as belts and hoses, tires, brake pads and other issues associated with long term storage decay will make for a high quality and reliable driver.
In our opinion the internal mechanics of this vehicle ar strong. The motor has strong compression and oil pressure, and receipts will verify an extensive engine rebuild. This car has a very interesting history which we will be happy to share with the new owner. We recently cleaned the fuel tank and fuel lines to start reliably, although a carburetor rebuild is in order due to the lengthy storage. Most electrical accessories will function as they should, air conditioning equipped, and the enthusiasm of of a new owner will put this car on the road with minimal effort in terms of Jaguar repair. Floor pans, trunk pan, spare tire well and the area beneath the Battery are all solid.
Inspection of the exterior of this Jag reveals straight body panels surfaced by an older and mostly presentable paint finish in Primrose Yellow. Exterior trim and glass are in excellent condition in terms of original, and the nose are of the hood assembly is in exceptional condition compared to most. All of the original glass panels are in excellent condition in terms of original. The stainless trim above the windshield is missing needs replacing. The Factory wire wheels look very nice, and in our opinion do not need replacing unless Concours is your goal. Overall, a good exterior presentation.
Inspection of the interior of the car show as totally original and well preserved. Leather seats show an aged Patina with no major cracks. The door panels are in exceptional condition in terms of original. The gauge cluster looks bright. The headliner is sagging and needs to be replaced.
The undercarriage shows as driver quality and overall solid with no rust issues observed.
Drive and enjoy this car immediatley with the usual refreshing and repair, and priced accordingly. Sat for 10 years, ready for a new life, and priced accordingly.
