Ebay item 9/15
www.ebay.com/itm/121751335719
Car had a buy it now price of $35,000, received no offers. 61k miles, seller andre10010

Sellers description:
Mint condition, 1970 Jaguar E-Type 2+2 Coupe. This E-Type is a later Series II model, featuring a 4.2L straight six engine mated to a four speed manual gearbox for sporty driving characteristics.

This car was imported from Long Island, NY to Montreal, Canada by myself personally. I have owned it for the past 8 years and in that time it was always properly stored in a heated garage during the cold winter months. This car is not a "garage queen", it is ready to drive, just turn the key and go. The car turns heads and receives attention wherever it goes.

Exterior
The exterior of this E-Type is in excelled condition for its age. All chrome trim pieces are in place and do not show any signs of rust. It features North American-spec wrap around chrome bumpers front and rear. There are small scratches in the paint on one side of the hood, they are not noticeable unless closely looked at. Barring these blemishes, the paint can be described as "very good". This car retains the correct uncovered headlamps, which were characteristic of Series II cars. The wire-mesh chrome rims are in great condition, with no signs of curb rash.

Interior
This car has the original leather seats which were installed at the factory. The leather does exhibit some cracking (see photos). All switch gear and dials are original and they are all functional. I replaced the radio with a modern single-DIN head unit. The headliner was professionally reupholstered last year. Additional work was done to strengthen the driver's and passenger's side floorboards.

Engine
This E-Type starts every time and drives exceptionally for a car of its vintage. The car is very agile, featuring four wheel disk brakes and independent suspension. The four-speed transmission engages every gear smoothly. The twin exhaust tips provide a sporty sound without being overpowering at cruising speed. The engine runs strong and pulls in any gear.

Several mechanical upgrades were done, including:

Brake master cylinder replaced
Radiator hoses replaced
Upgraded electric fan installed
Clutch master and slave
Rear brakes
Rebuilt alternator
New Battery

All work was carried out by a local garage specializing in antique exotic cars.

Car now in UK and for sale on eBay
www.ebay.co.uk/itm/JAGUAR-E-TYPE-2-2-/161984719379

This is a wonderful and honest example of an early Series 2 Jaguar E-Type.

The car has been done only 61,000 miles over the last 46 years and kept garaged and dry. You can see by the engine bay how well this car has aged. Many people look at these cars as "Donors" for a bigger project be it Eagle or Hutson, but if you just want a great car she is also ideal. When i had a mechanic looking at the carbs recently he was amazed and commented it was the cleanest engine bay he had seen in his time with classics. The paint is in a great condition and was well done. The chassis and engine bay have all been painted and done with car as there is no spray on the engine so I can only assume that it was a full engine out re-spray.

Starts first and every time.. the gearbox is sweet and engine pulls well, This being a power steering model is an easy drive.

The 4 speed manual transmission runs smooth and hasn't got any issues.

The interior needs the work mainly around the door cards and roof lining. I have been estimated £1,200 to re-trim the whole car, but i would suggest when you have bought the car you discuss with your trimmer of choice how far you ant to go as just a roof lining and door cards isn't going to be very much.

Some of the chrome needs re-chroming, it isn't offensive but would need to be on the list to do. I believe all the parts are there to put the car back together (outside and inside mirrors, chrome around back window etc). The car was imported from Canada and originally from New York - Hence how well and dry it has been stored and kept. The car is fully VAT and duty paid up and ready to be registered here in the UK when you are ready to - if you are going to change the colour I would suggest doing so before registering so the car can be registered under the colour you change to. Additionally I have had a qutoe for £1,100 from Hutson Motor Company for the LHD to RHD conversion kit. As the LHD and RHD drive cars were produced on the same production line, they are one of the easiest to convert.

All Switch Gear And Dials Are Original And They Are All Functional

Vehicle Is Currently Un Registered, I Have Had The Car MOT'd And Only Failed On 2 Minor Items,

1. Horn inop

2. Power steering fluid leak

The car is wonderful and will be thoroughly enjoyed.

The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
