Current bid US $25,000, no reserve, 61 bids 8 days left in auction.

Sellers description:
Well preserved, original example of the very desirable 1970 Jaguar XKE Series II 2+2 Coupe showing 64,222 miles offered by Gas Monkey Garage! I found this well preserve example of the iconic Jaguar XKE, owned by a very enthusiastic admirer of the XKE, I knew I had to act quickly to secure it. He was able to enjoy and maintain it as it should have been until he was no longer able to enjoy driving it anymore. At that point he focused on maintaining and preserving it in an indoor building and this preserved the floors and tub from the fate of most E-Types (rust) and the result is this extremely well preserved, but not restored XKE 2+2 Coupe. Please see all pics (especially the spare tire tub!) The doors and hinges are extremely solid and tight. When I got it back to the shop Aaron and the monkeys began the process of cleaning and inspecting the car to see what it needed to run again after all these years. The engine came to life with a fresh battery and fuel and this E-Type was taken on a short test drive. While this 1970 Jaguar XKE runs and drives, it has been stored for nearly 15 years and wasn't started or driven for quite some time, therefore it will need to be completely serviced before attempting to drive it for extended periods to insure safety and reliability. Due to our filming schedule we will not be able to service this XKE (sold as is/where is).The exterior is in amazing condition with a glossy Black finish appearing to have had the original Silver paint re-sprayed at some time in the past with very small nicks and scratches with one small dent on the hood from the underside and some "crazing "of the paint as well. All of the chrome bumpers and trim are present and in good condition (see all photos). The interior is also in incredible condition with good, solid carpet. The dash is complete and clean. The seats are complete and operational with clean, solid leather upholstery showing wear . All door panels, interior panels and the rear luggage compartment are in good condition as well as the headliner making for an easy restoration if desired. The engine compartment appears original and unmolested having been maintained throughout the years. Underside pics reveal a very solid tub and mechanical components that are unmolested with minimal rust present. This rare 1970 Jaguar XKE will be seen on the hit show Fast N' Loud and the winning bidder may have the option of taking delivery here at the shop or we'll help with shipping logistics. Clear Texas Title in hand! If you're looking for a good, solid example of the iconic 1970 Jaguar XKE 2+2 Coupe in great condition you won't find a better example that's priced to sell!

The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
