Ebay item 11/4/05
cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Jaguar-E-Type-XKE-Convertible-Same-owner-past-26-years-G ...
Current bid $14,100.00 (Reserve not met), 7 bids, 9 days left in auction.

Sellers description:
This is my Jag, I've owned it for 26 years, since 1979, and have put less than 5,000 miles on it.

The engine runs well, and has that awesome XKE sound. 6 cyl. 4.2L

The leather hides were replaced on the interior. The exterior was repainted and a new top put on (less than 4,000 miles ago) in 1985.

I'm selling it because my wife says some of the toys need to go.

The leather interior is in very good to excellent condition.

The exterior is in good condition. There's no visible rust, but the paint has some trouble spots like you can see in the pictures.(it has been 20 years since the last painting.)

Black convertible top. Manual 4 speed transmission. It has original factory Air and AM/FM Cassette Radio. It has the original convertible top boot in good condition. It also comes with all the tire tools you see with the spare in the photo. It has 67493 miles on it. VIN#P2R13834.

There are a few problems. I'm not a mechanic, so I'll just list them off:
Horn will not honk, It leaks Power stearing fluid, A/C doesn't cool, however fan works fine, Speedometer quit working, Tires hold air well, but are 25 years old, The paint has some trouble spots.

Sold at Copart salvage auction on 2/8/21 in Mobile, AL. with a "Florida Certificate of Title branded Salvage Rebuildable Flood". Appeared to have been in the process of being painted when I assume it was damaged by a 2020 hurricane. It appears to have been completly submerged based on pictures. In primer, rust in the LR quarter, LR wire wheel is damaged/disintegrated. The trim is off the car and I don't see the carburetors, intake or aircleaner. Restorable car needing everything.

Spam prevention question (must be answered):
The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
