Opening bid $28,500, no reserve, no bids yet, 4 days left in auction. Car now said to be in Cromwell, Connecticut. 39k miles.

Sellers description:
Up for ABSOLUTE AUCTION to the highest bidder is an excellent example of an award winning 1971 Jaguar E Type 4.2 liter coupe. This car was awarded FIRST PLACE by the Jaguar Club of Southern New England in July 2007 at the Concours d’Elegance Jaguar Club of North America’s sanctioned event by winning the Champion Modified Division. The car also has won Second Place as a NATIONAL SLALOM CHAMPION in Jaguar Club of North America’s Competition Class D in 2005 and the car has a race history at the beautiful LIME ROCK Race Track in a multi-year sanctioned Jaguar Club of North America’s Empire Divison club racing.

A few modifications include a 3rd brake light, modified Series 1 rear brake lights, front headlights, weight reductions throughout for performance enhancement, new front grill work, side vents, race mirrors and more. This Jaguar has “One of a Kind” pearl white and green racing stripes. This is a straight 6 engine with triple webbers, aluminum radiator, straight exhaust racing system with headers, a15 gallon aluminum fuel cell, high performance battery and a custom suspension system which includes high performance front adjustable shocks and a specialty designed front coils. The interior includes a Nardi wood steering wheel, a 5 point driver’s harness and fully adjustable seats.

This is an exquisite example of pure Jaguar in a “one-of-a-kind” head turner that catches even the truest concours show enthusiast. This E-type is a beautiful street motorcar and racer you will truly enjoy and be proud to own, drive, show and race. It promises to give you the feel of what classics are best appreciated for…art and speed.

This has been a pleasure to build, drive, and race and own. This classic motorcar is CT registered.

The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
