Ebay item 7/24/12 cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/1972-Jaguar-E-Type-XKE-V12-4-sp-Convertible-roadster-low ...
Car has a buy it now price of $44,900 for 6 days. 28k miles.
Sellers description:
1972 Jaguar E-Type XKE V12 four speed OTS Convertible roadster with low mileage and removable hardtop. Purchased 16 years ago in California, shipped to Pittsburgh and since driven locally to car shows and events, and stored winters in a heated garage (not exposed to Pittsburgh winters and not driven in the snow or rain). Rust free, with excellent chrome and ice cold AC. Chrome wire wheels with new knockoffs and almost new period Pirelli P5 Cinturato 215 70 VR 15 tires, all matching, including the spare. The 5.3L (326 cu. in.) V12 engine starts easily, runs strong and does not overheat. It has the normal oil leaks (hey, it's an E-type) but there is no blue smoke in the exhaust. The 4-speed manual transmission is quiet, shifts well. You really want a 4 speed to experience the pull and torque of a V12 powerplant. The included Heritage Certificate shows this to be an unmolested, correct "numbers matching" car. The original exhaust system has been replaced with an Ansa flow-through performance exhaust, which has just enough growl and plenty of bark when you open it and sounds absolutely awesome at full throttle. The paint is British Racing Green and appears to have been nicely resprayed some years ago (before I owned it) in the same color. The convertible top has been replaced with a Haartz tan cloth top, perfect canvas and rear window. The tan interior is original Connolly leather, and has a nice patina with no tears or burst seams. It also has new Wilton wool carpets. I changed the radio to a Kenwood AM/FM stereo cassette player, but the original radio will be included separately in a box. The engine emission control system is all present, not stripped off like so many of these. 1972 has the early better looking European over-riders (bumper guards) front and rear, not those ugly "big black box" things found on the later 1973 and 1974 models . The sale of this car includes the much sought after optional factory-original removable fiberglass hardtop. It is painted to match the car body color (BRG) with a light tan interior. It is in generally good condition but would need some detailing to match the car's condition. The hardtops for the V12 roadsters are rare and usually sell for about $1,500 on E-Bay, but rather than sell it separately, I am including it with the car to give the future owner the option to see it and decide to keep it or recoup some of his purchase price by selling it. The hardtop can ship easily with the car by simply lowering the convertible top and latching the hardtop in place. The convertible boot cover, owner's manual, jack, jack pouch, knockoff wrench, and lead hammer are all included. You will not be disappointed, this car is a very nice, well sorted high end driver, but it could be easily upgraded for show and is realistically priced to sell at $44,900.
