Current bid $3,250.00 (Reserve not met), 12 bids, 8 days left in auction.

Sellers description:
1972 Jaguar E-Type Series III V-12 car. This car has been stripped and is ready for refurbishing. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who wants to rebuild an incredible car. We had originally planned to rebuild this car into a show quality Jag. We invested substantially in new parts and rebuilt old parts (see the list below, invoices available). The paint job is incredibly beautiful and is in LIKE NEW condition. However, due to travel and other responsibilities we have never been able to take the time to complete the job. The car has been stored covered inside our garage since it's purchase in 1989. The reserve price on this listing is less than half of the amount spent (listed below with invoices available) since it's current owner. This doesn't include any additional labor, the original price of the vehicle or any other expenses. Completed cars of this style and quality are going for $40,000+ on ebay.

General History and Condition:
This car was running until 1988 when the engine was removed to repair the clutch. A restoration project was initiated at the same time resulting in the car being stripped. The car was sold to us in June 1989 in a stripped condition.

This car has been stripped ready for refurbishing, the engine and gearbox are out off the car and the interior is removed. All engine parts, electrical parts, wiring and glass have been removed. Most of the engine compartment parts are in boxes waiting to be assembled.

The car was professionally painted white (which was confirmed by Jaguar to be the original color, letter from Jaguar is available.) by North Dallas Auto Works in 1992 at a cost of $9,783, since that time the car has not left the garage. New rubber and a new exhaust system was purchased for the car in 1992 and have not yet been installed.

Various parts were rebuilt in 1989/92 starting with;
The front suspension
Gearbox (which was rebuilt by Allstate Transmission)
Clutch and flywheel
Radiator

General Condition- Exterior:
The paint and body are in PERFECT shape having been covered in a garage since being painted.
The exterior chrome is in EXCELLENT condition with some new parts.
The wire wheels (5) are in EXCELLENT condition.
The glass is in EXCELLENT condition with the exception of the back door glass which is missing.
The engine was cleaned after its removal and has been covered and sealed since. It has not been re-built.
The front suspension and gearbox should be in excellent condition.
Shock absorbers have not been replaced.
Tires are functional but do not match.
Most of the rubber has been replaced.
Body condition:
Bonnet excellent
Trunk excellent
Roof excellent
Fenders excellent
Chrome excellent

General Condition- Interior:
The carpets and underlay were in poor condition and have been removed and not replaced.
The headliner is missing.
The front seats have several tears at the seams but all of the hardware is complete. There are more tears on the driver's side than the passenger's side. There are no tears in the back seat.
The interior panels are intact (no tears) but look a little dirty.
There is no electrical wiring in the car. The wiring harnesses were removed and are contained in a box. They are complete as far as we know although some connectors/terminals were cut off when it was removed.
The gas tank is in good shape.
Seat belts are installed front and rear.
Dash minor wear
Door panels worn
Chrome good
Trunk worn

The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
