The 'E' Type from the Browns Lane factory was obviously one of the icons of all time and the last of the models produced came with the 5343cc V12 engine, power steering was fitted as standard and the more desirable models had the four speed manual gearbox.
This particular example was a personal import from California and the present owner arranged, and paid for, a professional restoration, including converting it to right hand drive, and all the bills, totalling some ú6000, are available in the history file. He was careful to take it back to its original specification, including the 2.88 differential, and it is absolutely rust free with an excellent panel fit and it has a complete history that would put many other models to shame. The present owner believes the 51000 miles on the odometer to be genuine from new and it has the much preferred manual gearbox and comes complete with its Jaguar-Daimler heritage trust certificate.
A superb example which is ready for the open road.
Please note: The owner was going to keep the cherished registration number allocated to this car but has, since the catalogue was printed, changed his mind. It is now included in the sale.

Sold by Fayreoak Classics of Cheltenham in October 2020. Abbreviated seller's description below.
Originally a left hand drive roadster, this Series 3 was dispatched to the British Leyland distributor in New York on 19 January 1973 having come off the Browns Lane production line on 10 November 1972. The Heritage Certificate confirms this along with confirmation of its original colour scheme as Pale Primrose paintwork with Black trim, a combination it sports today. Repatriated to the UK by the E Type Centre and registered here in November 1998, the car was converted to right hand drive and has had one owner since.
In 2006 the owner asked Jaguar specialists, Watjag of Bakewell to undertake an engine rebuild. It was rebuilt with new pistons, liners, valves, guides and bearings. A new clutch was also fitted; the work taking 165 hours and cost £12,000. This work is fully documented in the history file. Recently fitted with new spark plugs the engine's oil pressure is 60PSI, the engine is positive and the gearbox engages smoothly.
The paintwork is in great condition with a nice finish. The chromework is in very good condition with no dullness or pitting evident. The surround to the radiator air intake has a couple of dents otherwise the brightwork is striaght and true. The chrome wire wheels are very presentable and the light lenses and windscreen are in unmarked condition, free from chips and scratches. The cloth hood has no wear or fading but there is slight creasing to the rear window.
The interior is in good condition but would benefit from a hide feed. The steering wheel is in great condition, the boot trim, boards and spare wheel are all in place. Since its return to the UK it has had consistent but limited use averaging about 500 miles a year.
