Ebay item 5/25/06
cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Jaguar-E-Type-ROADSTER-1973-JAGUAR-XKE-SERIES-III-ROADST ...
Current bid $15,655 reserve not met, 4 bids, 6 days left in auction. 54k miles.

Sellers description:
1973 JAGUAR XKE SERIES III V-12 ROADSTER in Sparkling OLDE ENGLISH WHITE with BLACK SOFT TOP and BLACK LEATHER Interior PLUS rare Factory BLACK Removeable HARDTOP.

This stunning JAG checked out fine with our Service Department. Everything works as it should. The A/C blows cold(!), the steering is straight and "tight", the Transmission shifts perfectly, the brakes stop as they should, the switches all switch and the buttons all function.

Literally found well-covered and properly stored in a Barn where it's former local owner had parked it years ago, this XKE has no issues. Our Service Department carefully brought it back to life with new Belts, Fluids, Hoses, etc. The body and underpinnings show no prior rust, the 12-Cylinder JAGUAR matching number engine runs perfectly and the Auto Trans shifts as it should. It's better than a "driver" and overall in really fine shape!

The paint, body, chrome and trim are in incredibly nice condition! No dings, dents or bubbling anywhere. The Wire Wheels show some minor surface rust between the spokes (see pictures). There is a minor "push" in the rear center bumper section. The Chrome, while not "Show Quality", is as nice as these pictures. The interior is beautiful with no rips, cracks, tears or abrasions. The carpets are excellent. The OEM Vinyl Soft Top was just professionally replaced. The interior headliner of the detachable Hardtop shows some storage wear (see pictures), but is perfectly usable as it is. The Hardtop's Rear window has some very minor "crazing" in the Plexiglass. The Hardtop Stand is not included in this Auction.

This XKE SERIES III V-12 is, overall, a truly nice, low mileage example of this highly collectible, appreciating marque!

This beauty comes fully equipped with Factory Air Conditioning, Automatic Transmission, Power Steering, Leather Seats, Period-correct AM/FM radio, 5 brand new Dunlop Whitewall Radial Tires mounted on Chrome Wire Wheels, Soft Top Boot Cover, Detachable Hardtop, and all other standard equipment. It's all here, functioning and beautiful!!

The elegance of the timeless XKE design is only part of the pride of ownership. The beautiful sounds and the power produced by the V-12 under the hood make this car the "legendary lithe Cat" that it is! Drive it a few years and sell it for much more!!!

Spam prevention question (must be answered):
The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
