This 1973 Jaguar E-Type is a Series III roadster that was purchased new by the current owner’s late husband from Scott-Welch Motor Cars, Limited in Nashville, Tennessee, in June 1973. The car relocated to Florida in 1986, and it now shows just 8k miles. It is finished in Pale Primrose Yellow over black leather and is powered by a 5.3-liter V12 paired with a three-speed automatic transmission. Equipment includes a black soft top, chrome-finished knock-off wire wheels, quad Zenith-Stromberg carburetors, PerTronix ignition, and a Kenwood cassette stereo. Work performed in preparation for the sale included changing the oil and replacing the tires. This Series III E-Type is now offered by the seller on behalf of the current owner with a removable hardtop, manufacturer’s literature, original purchase documents, service records, a Jaguar Heritage Trust certificate, a tool kit, and a clean Florida title in the current owner’s name.

The car is finished in Pale Primrose Yellow and is equipped with a black soft top. Exterior features include chrome bumpers with overriders, a louvered hood, a driver-side mirror, a black boot cover, and central dual exhaust outlets. The boot cover is missing snaps, and the seller states that the hood, quarter panels, and trunk were refinished to correct paint damage. A gloss black removable hardtop is included in the sale.

Chrome-finished 15″ wire wheels feature knock-off hubs and wear Vredestein Sprint Classic tires that were installed in April 2021. Additional work performed in April 2021 included topping off the brake fluid. Braking is provided by four-wheel discs with inboard-mounted rear rotors. A knock-off tool, lead hammer, and jack are included in the sale. The differential pinion and output shaft seals are leaking.

The cabin features bucket seats upholstered in black leather with matching door panels and carpets. The aftermarket Kenwood cassette stereo was installed in February 1984. The air conditioning does not work, and the rubber seals require replacement.

The three-spoke steering wheel frames Smiths instrumentation including a 160-mph speedometer and a 7k-rpm tachometer, while auxiliary gauges for voltage, water temperature, and fuel level are mounted in the center of the dash along with an analog clock. The oil pressure gauge does not work. The five-digit odometer shows 8k miles.

The 5.3-liter V12 features single overhead camshafts for each cylinder bank, a PerTronix electronic ignition system, a spin-off oil filter, and four Zenith-Stromberg carburetors. The coolant hoses require replacement. An oil change was performed in preparation for the sale, and a replacement battery was installed in November 2020.

Engine stamping 7S11434LA matches the engine number listed on the chassis plate and Jaguar Heritage Trust certificate. Power is sent to the rear wheels through a three-speed automatic transmission.

Manufacturer’s literature, original purchase documents, and service records are included in the sale.

The Jaguar Heritage Trust certificate shows a dispatch date of March 30, 1973, along with the factory colors and the chassis, engine, body, and gearbox numbers. Chassis number UD1S22442BW is listed, and the VIN on the title omits the “UD” prefix.
