    Sellers comment:
THIS IS A CALIFORNIA CAR, IT IS 4 SPEED, THE CAR HAS SAT IDLE FOR QUITE A WHILE, AS IT HAD AN ACCIDENT IN THE DRIVER SIDE FRONT, THE SPACE FRAME ON THAT SIDE HAS BEEN REPLACED, AND A VERY GOOD JOB DONE, THE HOOD HAS BEEN REPLACED WITH A 12 CYLINDER 1971 MODEL, IT NEEDS TO BE ALIGNED, AND INNER PANELS FITTED, THE CAR WAS NEVER FINISHED, THE RESTORATION NEEDS TO BE COMPLETED, THE CAR IS MORE OR LESS COMPLETE, I CAN'T SEE ANYTHING MISSING, THE DASH IS NICE, AND THE LEATHER VERY PRESENTABLE, THE TRUNK IS PERFECT, AS YOU CAN SEE BY THE PHOTOS, AND THE CAR IS RUST FREE, AN EXCELLENT UNDERSIDE, THE MOTOR TURNS OVER, BUT IS NOT RUNNING AT PRESENT, PROBABLY NEEDS A SERVICE, ETC., THE DOORS FIT SUPERB, VERY WELL INDEED, AS DOES THE TRUNK LID, THIS CAR NEEDS SOMEONE TO COMPLETE THE JOB, IT OF COURSE WILL BE A FANTASTIC CAR WHEN DONE, ITS NOT AN OUT OF STATE RUST BUCKET, IT HAS A VERY GOOD LOOK TO IT, LOTS OF PROMISE !!, THE ORIGINAL COLOR WAS SILVER, WITH BLUE HIDES, VERY PRETTY !!

A United States delivery car, it was imported into the United Kingdom from Hungary and registered EWV 512L in October 2016. For sale at Vintage and Prestige Cars for £94,000. Seller's description below.
    www.vandp.net/sales/1347/1973-jaguar-e-type-v12-roadster

Jaguar E Type Roadster RHD 5 speed. Restored 9 years ago, this car has been regularly used but sparingly including a summer tour around Lake Balacon in Hungary. The car is in superb condition with gunmetal grey paintwork to the exterior along with chrome pressed wheels. A snug mohair hood completes the look.

The interior is in Maroon with matching maroon carpets all in fine restored condition. Mechanically the car has been fully gone through during the rebuild leaving a car which is smooth, powerful and very, very tractable pulling in top gear from walking pace. The car has covered a scant 15,000 miles since restoration and has been used in summers only.

The car has resided in Budapest for the past 7 years where it has been in a privately owned collection. This great example Jaguar E Type Roadster really does want for nothing and drives superbly, having just been subject to a complete overhaul to bring it up to scratch. With the RHD conversion and 5 speed gearbox being recently done. The instructions from the previous owner were to completely go through the car and see to whatever was needed.

Bought this lovely series 3 about 6 months ago, it had a few minor faults which are now fixed. Matching numbers with a Heritage Certificate. Would like to know more of its history after being exported to the USA. in 1973
The car has been converted to R.H.D. by the previous private owner. Drives like a dream. a rare thing is no rust. so suspect it was a California car.

I have now owned the car for nearly 3 years and have driven about 3000 miles. It is a great car and never failed to start first time whether hot or cold and has never given any trouble. The car uses no oil between oil changes and has no oil leaks. My other car is a 1974 Triumph Stag and it is great to compare the two cars which were built at the same time. They both bring a smile to my face when driving them. I would still like to know a bit more about the rebuild in Hungary and its U.S history. Its Californian registration was 927 MGO.

I would like to find a bit more of the history when the car was in the U.S. It was exported to Hungary from the US in 2003 where it was restored before going into a private collection there. and came to the UK in 2016.

The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
