Ebay item 7/15/16
www.ebay.com/itm/Jaguar-E-Type-XKE-2plus2-/222186713803
Car has a buy it now price of $30,000 for 20 days. Seller i-deal-it, 64k miles.
Sellers description:
1973 Jaguar XKE 2 plus 2, was V12 4 speed Transmission, has a 1969 Corvette 350 - 350 h.p with a later model 5 speed install in the car. This combination makes for a reliable source of driving with inexpensive tune ups and repairs. The true great part of this car is the owner when doing the engine up grade kept the numbers matching V12 with the original numbers matching 4 speed not blown up was running when removed. I was told by the owner that the V12 power plant was to expensive to tune and was not reliable for true driving. I believe it also was complicated to keep running correctly and did not want to spend the money to tune correctly by the people that know how. So they installed a good old reliable Chevy power plant with it mated to a gas saving 5 speed. Now that's easy to maintain. I was told that the engine has been rebuilt by a reliable and professional engine build in his area, I don't remember the name of the shop. I am sure all that information is in the piles of paperwork and manuals I was given with the car. He also supplied me with 4 large boxes of parts for the V12 and every piece from the swap. These parts are all tagged and itemized as to what they are. Nothing was damaged in the swap of this engine so no cutting or damage was done to the car in this swap.
Forgot to mention the rarest thing of all, the factory installed moon roof how many have you seen with this option.
The car is a Canadian car that has had 3 owners since new. It looks to have had a good life do to the body and underside being very solid with out lots of rust. As many others I have seen with much rust and many panels replaced not this car nice example. It has a few little spots that can be repaired in an afternoon by a capable person. The glass is all original, the chrome is not bad condition with one small dent on back bumper. Front nose trim has some dents. All lights and gauges are in working order. With exception of Speedometer no cable should be easy fix never bothered me drive by tach. Seem is split in drivers seat. Air is not working do to the engine swap. There are 3 small dents on left quarter fender do to falling object no bad dents but their there. The paint is old and in need of a repaint but maybe serviceable for several years yet. Tire are brand new. Wheels are in decent shape.
This is a very decent car as Jags go. In my opinion after having it with a Chevy it a great car to drive, its faster, handles as good I believe much better, way better on fuel, and much cheaper to repair and pulls like a bear. If you don't open the hood nobody knows cant even look through the vents that's what the aluminum shields are for. LOL. The beauty is if you want the Jag engine and trans its available and not at the scrap yard.
