Sold by Cathedral Classics of Bielefeld in October 2023. Abbreviated seller's description below.
www.cathedral-classics.com/car/jaguar-e-type-series-3-roadster/
This exquisite E Type Series 3 roadster boasts an intriguing history that adds to its allure. The Jaguar Heritage Trust Certificate confirms its build date as 6 November 1973, just seven months before LHD production ceased. Shipped on 24 January 1974 to British Leyland New York, it was purchased by J and J Armado on 17 September 1974. It remained with its original owner until the mid 1990s and was later imported to the UK by Jaguar Land Rover Classic Car Sales as part of its reborn programme in 2014. It was held in storage until auctioned by H and H in 2019. It was purchased by a garage owner known to the classic car trade. He repainted the car, converted it to European specification and sold it to France.
The exterior repaint involved filling in the wing indicators an after the repaint fitting European bumpers. The original factory hard top remains in place and the car comes with its original hard top. The car has fantastic shut lines throughout and is a wonderful extremely usable survivor, that has not been over restored. In the interior the black leather seats have been refreshed and new matching carpet has been fitted to the driver's side. Greencats of Colchester England overhauled the engine and removed the emissions equipment. The four Zenith carburettors have been overhauled and the fuel system, tank, hoses, seals and fluids were all renewed, resulting in good oil pressure and smooth operation.
This remarkable E Type is a genuine, low mileage example that radiates, elegance and history, and is in pristine condition. It has a wonderful interior patina, refined exterior and meticulously restored mechanics.
