Auction description:
NEWPORT BEACH 2015 CONSIGNMENTS
1974 Jaguar XKE Roadster
Consignment # 3030 VIN #UE1S24225
Vehicle to be offered for Auction sale June 5th 7th, 2015 at Russo and Steele's 3rd Annual Newport Beach California Auction
This matching numbers, final-year E-Type Roadster from 1974 was restored and comprehensively upgraded for driving enjoyment, with performance considerably heightened over its factory-stock specifications. The already powerful V-12 engine was completely rebuilt and fitted with forged performance pistons and custom-made Deves rings and drive gear. Other outstanding features include a brand new engine cage, SU carburetor kit, Stage 2 racing cam, and valve springs. All-new parts, bearings, fasteners, and seals were installed throughout the engine as well. Hotter spark is provided by a Pertronix coil, distributor cap, and spark-plug wires, and fuel is delivered via a brand new fuel pump with all new lines and hardware. A set of headers feeds the big-bore stainless-steel exhaust system. A lightweight alloy flywheel and a competition clutch kit send the V-12s power to a brand new five-speed manual transmission.
Other new items include an upgraded oil filter housing, all-new rubber hoses, clamps, hard lines, and more, with virtually everything brand new and upgraded inside and out of the Jaguar. Engine cooling is thoroughly enhanced with the addition of an XL aluminum radiator, dual thermostatically-controlled cooling fans, a brand new water pump, aluminum coolant expansion tank, and oil cooler. Passenger comfort is heightened to match, with an upgraded A/C system and a new heater box kit. The E-Types underpinnings received similar treatment, with the addition of an improved adjustable steering rack, a complete steering kit, and steering column U-joint. Updated torsion bars, a polyurethane suspension bushing set, GAZ shocks and springs, and an IRS mounting kit were fitted as well. The Wilwood brake system includes heavy-duty braided lines, CC bearings, a set of sport rotors, a complete bearing kit, new calipers, and stainless pistons.
The E-Types new exterior paintwork is beautifully complemented by all new chrome, rubber seals and gaskets, a new windscreen and convertible top, and the more appealing early-style bumpers. The cockpit is handsomely trimmed in new leather upholstery including the dash, and the car is further equipped with Dynamat sound deadener beneath the new carpeting. A new vintage-style radio, speakers, and wiring provide entertainment beyond the cars unforgettable V-12 song. An original imported Nardi steering wheel and a set of Dunlop wheels wrapped in proper Vredestein tires complete this exceptionally presented E-Type, which is accompanied by receipts totalling approximately $100,000.
