This 1974 Jaguar E-Type is a Series III roadster that was delivered new to Main Auto Sales Inc. of Madison, New Jersey. Its Manufacturer’s Statement of Origin was reassigned to C&M Motors Inc. of Denville, New Jersey in April 1974, and is said to have remained with the family of that dealer until it was acquired by the seller in 2019 and first titled in 2021. The car is finished in British Racing green over tan leather upholstery, and power comes from a 5.3-liter V12 paired with a four-speed manual transmission. Features include a removable black hardtop, a black soft top with matching boot, 15″ wire wheels, quad Zenith-Stromberg carburetors, four-wheel disc brakes, air conditioning, and a Blaupunkt AM/FM radio. Service performed under the seller’s ownership reportedly included the installation of a brake booster servo diaphragm and seals, carburetor diaphragms and lower O-rings, clutch and brake reservoir level warning switches, a resealing of the clutch master cylinder, and a battery. This final-year E-Type is now offered with a luggage rack in a factory box, a black tonneau cover, tools, and a clean New Jersey title in the seller’s name.

The body is finished in British Racing Green and features flared wheel arches, V12-badging, US-spec bumper guards, a louvered hood, quad central exhaust outlets, and a black convertible top with a matching top boot. The included black hardtop features a white headliner and can be seen in the gallery along with photos of the black tonneau cover.

The wire wheels are mounted with 70VR15 Dunlop Formula 70 whitewall radial tires. A matching spare wheel and tire are mounted beneath the trunk floor. The E-Type featured a fully independent suspension and four-wheel disc brakes. Service performed under the seller’s ownership is said to have included the installation of a new brake booster servo diaphragm, seals, and a brake reservoir level warning switch.

The cabin features bucket seats upholstered in tan leather along with matching door panels and carpets. Brown Jaguar-branded rubber floor mats line the footwells, and equipment includes air conditioning, a Blaupunkt AM/FM radio, an analog clock, and a locking glovebox.

The leather-wrapped three-spoke steering wheel frames Smiths gauges including a 160-mph speedometer and a tachometer with a 6,500-rpm redline. The five-digit odometer shows just over 5,600 miles.

The 5.3-liter V12 features quad side-draft Zenith-Stromberg carburetors, factory air cleaners, and polished rain shields. The carburetors are said to have been fitted with new lower O-rings and diaphragms in 2021. A new battery was also installed along with fresh coolant and engine oil.

Power is sent to the rear wheels via a four-speed manual transmission. A new clutch reservoir level warning switch was reportedly installed in 2021, and the clutch master cylinder was resealed.

The Manufacturer’s Statement of Origin shows delivery to Main Auto Sales Inc. in April 1974.
