This 1974 Jaguar E-Type is a Series III roadster that is finished in red over tan leather and is powered by a 5.3-liter V12 paired with a three-speed automatic transmission. Equipment includes a tan convertible top, chrome wire wheels, a Blaupunkt cassette stereo, and quad Zenith/Stromberg carburetors. Recent service is said to consist of changing the oil, flushing the brake fluid and engine coolant, and replacing the battery and fuel filter. This Series III E-Type is now offered with a jack kit, a collection of spares, a Jaguar Heritage Trust certificate, manufacturer’s literature, and a clean Florida title assigned to the seller’s trust.

Originally finished in Sable, the car was painted Signal Red during prior ownership and again circa 2007. Exterior details include a tan convertible top, backdated chrome bumpers, hood louvers, V12 badging, and central exhaust outlets. Photos of the repaint process are provided in the gallery.

Chrome 15″ knock-off wire wheels wear Michelin Symmetry whitewall tires. The car is equipped with power steering, and stopping power is provided by four-wheel disc brakes. The brake fluid was recently flushed.

The cabin features reupholstered tan leather seats along with matching door panels and darker carpeting. Amenities include a heater and defroster, a locking glovebox, an analog clock, and a Blaupunkt cassette stereo. A tear in the driver’s seatback is shown in the gallery, and the seller notes that the air conditioning system requires service.

The leather-wrapped steering wheel sits ahead of a 160-mph speedometer, a tachometer with a 6,500-rpm redline, and gauges for voltage, oil pressure, coolant temperature, and fuel level. The five-digit odometer shows 49k miles. Total mileage is unknown.

The 5.3-liter V12 is equipped with quad Zenith/Stromberg carburetors. A 2012 engine rebuild reportedly included replacing the bearings and piston rings as well as refurbishing the cylinder heads with replacement valves and valve guides. Service in April 2021 reportedly included changing the oil, flushing the coolant, and replacing the battery and fuel filter.

Power is sent to the rear wheels through a three-speed automatic transmission. Additional underside photos are presented in the gallery below.

A Jaguar Heritage Trust certificate is included in the sale in addition to a factory jack kit, a collection of spares, and manufacturer’s literature.

Spam prevention question (must be answered):
The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
