Interested in hearing from anybody with information about this car's history particularly between 1998 and 2003. The first 6 owners lived in Minnesota and I registered the car in California in 2003

This 1974 Jaguar E-Type Series III roadster was built on January 15, 1974 and delivered new to the US through British Leyland of New York. It was acquired by the seller in 2003 and has since been displayed at various Concours events, including the 2018 and 2021 Hillsborough Concours d’Elegance. The car is finished in Greensand over Moss Green and is powered by a 5.3-liter V12 linked with a five-speed manual transmission and an XJS-sourced limited-slip differential. Features include a black soft top, a top boot, four-wheel disc brakes, power steering, 15” knock-off wire wheels, quadruple carburetors, LED headlights, Pertronix ignition, a Bluetooth radio, and air conditioning. This Series III E-Type is now offered on dealer consignment with a British Motor Industry Heritage Trust certificate, service records, the removed transmission, spare parts, a car cover, and a clean California title.

The car is finished in Greensand, and the selling dealer notes that the car has been repainted aft of the A-pillar and the rear of the car was repaired following a collision. Features include a replacement black soft top, a matching top boot, LED headlights, an electric antenna, a forward-hinged louvered hood, US-spec bumpers, and a power antenna. Areas of bubbling are noted.

The 15″ wire-spoke wheels are secured with knock-off spinners and are mounted with 205/70 Vreedstein Sport Classics tires that show date codes from 2018. The Series III E-Type was factory equipped with power steering, and stopping power is provided by four-wheel disc brakes with inboard-mounted rear rotors.

The cabin features seating surfaces upholstered in Moss Green leather as well as color-coordinated door panels and carpets. Interior amenities include a locking glovebox, a vintage-look radio with Bluetooth, and air conditioning, which was re-charged with R12 refrigerant in 2022. Replacement wiring was also installed at that time. The driver-side mirror knob is missing, the left turn signal does not auto-cancel, and the driver’s side carpet needs to be secured. Wear on the seats is visible.

The three-spoke steering wheel wears an aftermarket lace-up cover and frames Smiths instrumentation including a 160-mph speedometer and a tachometer with a 6,500-rpm redline. An analog clock along with auxiliary gauges for voltage, coolant temperature, oil pressure, and fuel level are mounted in the center stack. The five-digit odometer shows 50k miles, approximately 15k of which were added under current ownership. The selling dealer notes that the speedometer needs to be recalibrated.

The 5.3-liter V12 was factory equipped with quadruple Zenith-Stromberg carburetors and was rated at 241 horsepower and 285 lb-ft of torque when new. Modifications include a CoolCat radiator and fans, Pertronix electronic ignition, an alternator, and a spin-on oil filter.

Power is sent to the rear wheels through a five-speed manual transmission and a limited-slip differential reportedly sourced from an XJS. The transmission mount and clutch release bearing were replaced in 2023. A stainless-steel dual exhaust system has been installed.

The Jaguar Daimler Heritage Trust certificate lists the factory colors and serial numbers along with a build date of January 15, 1974.
