Ebay item 9/22/06
cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Jaguar-E-Type-1974-Jaguar-XKE-E-Type-Series-3-V-12-Conve ...
Opening bid $20k, reserve not met, no bids yet 6 days left in auction.
Sellers description:
This beautiful car was purchased by my late father in 1976 with 6,000 miles on the odometer. Currently the odometer reads 25,800 miles. It has always been stored in a dry garage and was driven occasionally on summer weekends. The car sat untouched in the garage from 1991 to 2004. I took it out of storage and had the care completely gone over mechanically and re-painted original "Jaguar Pale Primrose". The original paint was dull and the paint had peeled off the driver's side rocker panel. There was absolutely no rust of any kind. This car is completely sound and clean. The original chrome is spotless and even the original seats are almost like new. The original convertable top is also in almost new condition. My father had a roll bar installed. It is nice looking, strong and looks like it belongs in the car. It can however easily be taken out by removing 8 bolts. In Northern Ontario the factory air conditioning was never needed or used and currently does not work. A good quality Jensen AM/FM cassette receiver and speakers were installed in approximately 1981. This Jag drives absolutely beautifully. The suspension in this Series III XKE gives a very comfortable ride and the acceleration of this powerful V-12 puts you right back in your seat. Also included are a shop manual, Jaguar parts and service manual on disc, some extra rad hoses, 4 carb rebuild kits and various odds and ends. 1974 was the last year the XKE was made. The low milage on the Jag is original and this car is in almost new showroom condition. This is the one to buy!
Mechanical Work Recently Done New paint and carpeting - New front tires - Rad hoses - Fan belts - Rubber bonnet seal - Headlight switch - Starter Relay - Voltage regulator - Transmission mount bushing - Brake pads - 1 new tie rod end - 1 new ball joint - Air filters - Front brake calipers - Exhaust system rebuilt - Fuel tank & lines cleaned - New fuel pump - Clutch - Pressure plate - Release bearing - Front transmission bearing
NADA average retail price for this model is $48,950.00 with the high value being $69,600.00. Considering the excellent condition of this car, I have set a reasonably low reserve.
