This 1974 Jaguar E-Type Series III roadster is powered by a 5.3-liter V12 linked with a three-speed automatic transmission and a limited-slip differential. The car is finished in blue over matching leather and is equipped with a black soft top, four-wheel disc brakes, power steering, 15” knock-off wire wheels, quadruple carburetors, an AM/FM radio, and air conditioning. Acquired by the seller in 2015, this Series III E-Type is now offered with a clean California title in the seller’s name.
The seller notes that the car was refinished in its current shade of dark blue under prior ownership. A black soft top, uncovered headlights, a forward-hinged louvered hood, US-spec bumpers, and a power antenna are equipped
Wire-spoke 15″ wheels are secured with knock-off spinners and are mounted with 205/70 Michelin XWX tires. The Series III E-Type was factory equipped with power steering, and stopping power is provided by four-wheel disc brakes with inboard-mounted rear rotors.
The cabin features seating surfaces upholstered in blue leather, and appointments include air conditioning, an AM/FM radio, wind-up windows, and a locking glovebox.
Smiths instrumentation includes a 160-mph speedometer and a tachometer with a 6,500-rpm redline. An analog clock and readouts for voltage, coolant temperature, oil pressure, and fuel level are mounted in the center stack. The five-digit odometer shows 27k miles, approximately 1k of which were added under current ownership.
The 5.3-liter V12 was factory equipped with quadruple Zenith-Stromberg carburetors and was rated at 241 horsepower and 285 lb-ft of torque when new.
Power is sent to the rear wheels through a three-speed automatic transmission and a limited-slip differential.
