Sellers description:
1974 Jaguar E Type 5.3 V12 Series III Roadster
The car is showing just under 42,000 miles on the odometer. It was owned by older man who passed away and I'm helping the family sell the car. It was his fun car and used it sparingly on weekends and nice days. He always had any mechanical issues repaired, and it was a very dependable car for him receipts are available. It was last driven in the summer of 2015. The car starts and drives well. The engine is oily and when the car was moved from the garage there were some drips of oil on the floor. It is unknown where it is coming from, but could be from the filter canister. There are no unusual noises or smoking from the car. The 4 1 barrel carburetor has been rebuilt recently. The inside of the hood has paint flaking off, all wiring on hoses appear to be intact and functional. The underside of the car has surface rust on it the inspection were taken from the from the ground as a hoist was not available. The tires show good tread and no sidewall damage. The wire wheels appear to be in good condition but need cleaning. The trunk is solid, the spare is in the trunk, as are the jack and the knock off for the wheels and hammer. All are neatly maintained in a bag. The interior shows wear, the leather is cracked but not ripped, and as a whole are intact. The dash and gauges all appear to be in good condition, and gauges are clear. The car is equipped with air conditioning and a radio. All of the glass on the car is clear and free of defect. The paint shows its age well. The body panels appear to be straight and body gaps on the trunk and hood are even. The paint on the car has some nicks along the edge of the hood on the drivers side. There is a small rust-thru hole on the rear panel under the driver side bumper. There is also a small rust hole in the front of the inner fender well on the rear passenger side. There are a couple of paint bubbles on the rear passenger quarter below the bumper. The top is weathered but there are not any holes, the rear plastic window is fogged and stained. Please take a look at the pictures as I have tried to accurately describe the condition of the car. The car is located in Northwest Illinois.
