Ebay item 1/17/10
cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll
Current bid $25,000 reserve not met, 1 bid 8 days left in auction.
Sellers description:
Title: Clear, no liens.
Location: Phoenix (Anthem) Arizona
Condition: Excellent Mechanical with body and interior very good to excellent.
Engine: Upgraded V-12 with major rebuild performed in Summer 2004
Additional major mechanical upgrades performed in November 2009
Transmission: 4 speed manual with recent new clutch
History and Equipment: This opalescent silver blue (Series 1 E-Type color) roadster was purchased in the fall of 1997 from its Tucson, Arizona owner. Prior to purchase, the vehicle was thoroughly inspected by Falconworks Jaguar of Tucson, Arizona . Mileage at the time of purchase was approximately 73,986. No rust was found. Major tuning and a complete restoration of the suspension (front and rear) with addition of Koni shocks was performed. The total cost of this work was $13,102 (see receipts). Thereafter the car was used exclusively for club-type events and currently has approximately 84,000 miles but only about 5000 miles on the rebuilt engine. A clutch was replaced and major tuning performed by The Shop (Nick Walker, deceased) in Prescott, AZ. In the Summer of 2004, the engine was rebuilt by Sports Car Service of Tempe, Arizona. At that time higher performance cams were added as were higher compression pistons (9.1 to 1 compression). Last year, major work was performed by C.A.R.S of Phoenix (Bob Branton) to rebuild the distributor, substitute a Pertronix ignition system, and replace drive components from the crank case to the cams. All receipts for this work are available for inspection. In 2007 a major “street-type” restoration was performed and the car was painted opalescent silver blue at that time. Previously the car had been painted a metallic silver gray but was not found to be a Jaguar color so a Jaguar color from a Series 1 E-Type was applied. After painting, a new top and toneau-cover were purchased and installed. The car came with factory AC, but this was recently replaced with a aux. engine oil cooler to ensure cool running in hot Arizona conditions that are sometimes encountered even in the mild climate of Prescott, AZ where the car is garaged. The car also has an aluminum race-type radiator (I have the original also). I have all AC parts except belts. Wire wheels have been replaced by newer Dayton’s but I have the originals. There is a Nardi steering wheel and I have the original. I have tools and the original manual. The car is original except for the Jaguar color from an earlier car, the knock-off hubs, a stainless steel exhaust system with the large rear muffler removed (but saved), and the upgrades to the engine including the Pertronix ignition. This is an excellent example of the last of the E-Types with no expense sparred to ensure this car is fast, reliable and an “eye catcher.” I invite personal or professional inspection of this car by a shop of your choice in Phoenix.
