www.bonhams.com/auctions/25101/lot/59/

Auction description:
Lot 59
1974 Jaguar E-Type Series III V12 Roadster
Sold for US$ 64,960 inc. premium
The Scottsdale Auction
17 Jan 2019
Chassis no. UE1S26058
5,343cc SOHC V12 Engine

*Rare manual transmission example of the V12 E-Type
*The final evolution of the legendary E-Type
*In single-family ownership since the 1980s
*A striking example of a British motoring icon

This lovely Series III E-Type Roadster was purchased by the late Dr. Peter D. Williamson in the 1980s and has remained in the Williamson family until now. Dr. Williamson was best known for his very impressive Bugatti Collection, housing some of the finest works from the French marque, including an Atlantic. Presented in lovely Old English White over Red leather interior, this is a rare manual-transmission equipped example. The thrill of manipulating the torquey five-plus liter V12 via throttle and clutch is a sensation unique to these final evolution E-Types, themselves the ultimate evolution of the original E-Type design that dated back to 1961. One of the last of the breed, this E-Type is sure to provide many thrills for its next keeper.

Car has a buy it now price of $89,500 for 4 days, seller vantage1227, 41k miles, car now in Huntington Station, New York.

Seller's description:

1974 JAGUAR E-TYPE V12 SERIES III ROADSTER --Old English White with Red leather interior, Red carpeting, Tan top, 5.3 Liter V12 engine, 4-speed transmission, Factory air conditioning, 41,000 Original miles, Recent one family long term ownership since 1980’s. Although early history is unknown, this V12 Roadster was purchased by Dr. Peter D. Williamson in the 1980’s and remained in the Williamson family until 2018. During the family ownership, this E-Type was always well-taken care of, serviced and maintained regardless of use. This love and devotion over the decades represent the excellent condition of this E-Type V 12 Roadster as it presents today. Dr. Williamson was known for his impressive Bugatti Collection, including an Atlantic. Many late Series 3 E-Types were produced with the automatic transmission, but this example was factory built with the 4-speed manual gearbox as desired by many E-Type enthusiasts. This E-Type includes recent service receipts as well as receipts from the 1980s and 1990s, vinyl covered factory hardtop, knock-off wheel tool and hammer and a Series 3 repair shop manual. It has also been updated and equipped with a high flow aluminum radiator for better cooling. As one of the last of the breed, this Series 3 E-Type presents in excellent condition in all areas, cosmetically, mechanically and structurally. It will be sure to provide immediate enjoyment for its next custodian.
