Sellers comment:
This example is handsomely finished in Carmen red over biscuit leather interior with chrome wire wheels and a black top. It was originally a California car and was the recipient of a comprehensive, professional restoration to exact Jaguar specifications. The focus of the restoration was clear: to build a champion. The work was performed by Brian Anderson, a marque specialist with many years of experience with these special cars. He and his craftsman carefully fit and restored the components to what can be considered better than new condition. Careful attention was paid to originality so it could stand up to JCNA judges. The restoration was completed in 1997 and the car was placed in front of JCNA judges. When the rigorous judging was finished, this example scored a 99.94 and was declared the national champion. Then again in 2001 when it competed, it was the national runner-up, scoring a 99.97333. In 2002 it received 100 point at a JCNA event. Since restoration the car has only been driven sixty-three miles. The miles were driven by the restorer to ensure proper mechanical fitness. With its pedigree proven on the concours circuit it is believed this fine example is worthy of the finest collection.
