Classic Showcase is in the process of restoring this 1966 Jaguar XKE Series I 4.2 OTS to a Show/Driver level. Included in the restoration process the vehicle was stripped to bare metal, placed on a rotisserie, metal finished, leaded, all body parts fitted to the car and chrome, prepared for primer, sealer, paint, base, clear, color sanded and buffed to a fabulous finish. All systems were gone through and the engine was rebuilt back to factory specifications. The transmission, clutch system, hydraulic system will be restored and the car will receive all new rubber. All chrome will be re-plated. The car will receive a complete new custom tailored and fit interior in the correct materials by our upholstery department. A DVD of the restoration process will accompany the vehicle. Upon completion of the restoration this Jaguar will be a great example to drive, enjoy and compete in shows.

Car was at auction in France 9/11

Auction description:

CHÂSSIS N° # IE 12 844
ESTIMATIONS € 125 000 - € 135 000
Here is another E-type S1 4.2 DHC Jaguar. Like the previous one it had benefited of a complete restoration according to the rules. 1,500 hours were spent on it by a team of competent specialists. The car's whole structure had been checked up after complete removing of the paint. The transmission and the differential were dismantled and rebuilt with new gaskets. The owner chose to fit a 5-speed box instead of the original 4-speed one . The engine is new and true to the original specifications except a much better balancing of the moving parts. The electrical and braking systems are new.
This E-type is offered with its owner's manual and its tool set. We also have a CD showing the complete restoration process.
It is certainly the best E-type Jaguar we have ever offered for sale.

The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
