Ebay item 4/3/08
cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Jaguar-E-Type-Roadster-OTS-Museum-1Quality-Full-Matching ...
Opening bid $50,000 reserve not met, no bids yet 9 days left in auction.

Sellers description:
This example has been owned by the same southern gentleman attorney since 1969, having bought it from one of his best friends, who himself had bought it new the year before in Davenport Iowa. We have been doing the maintenance for 25 years. The miles are correct and beyond any doubt. The car has never been in a collision or any other event that could have damaged the car. The body and paint have been restored to museum quality. The car has always been garaged. It is without any rust, even prior to restoration, except for the commonly seen acid damage that we found under the battery tray. The triple carb engine and the four speed transmission run flawlessly, as if new. The wiring harness was completely replaced by a new, as original, cloth covered wiring harness. The Exterior condition is beyond belief, as it was restored with an eye toward making each detail appear as it would have when it came from the assembly line. The interior was custom made by BAS, one of the foremost supplier of authentic reproduction interiors for Jaguars. The wires and tyres are all original supplier, replacement, as new. The original color shows on the firewall, the body having been sprayed BRG some 20 years before.

# A car known since new¸ Restored to a #1 condition for collection.
# Restored by an Accomplished Shop that is well Recognized Nationally
# A collectable year¸ the 1967 is the last Series I¸ lst toggle dash¸ the last Covered headlamp.
# This is an investment quality car.

Spam prevention question (must be answered):
The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
