Ebay item 10/9/12
cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Series-1-4-2-liter-roadster-single-family-owned-matching ...
Current bid $68,500, no reserve, 24 bids 5 days left in auction.

Sellers description:
This is a single family owned Jaguar e-type series 1 roadster from new! Color combination of Opalescent silver grey with black interior.

The car was purchased new by Mr. Pennington in San Antonio, Texas. Upon his death the car went to his daughter in Atlanta, Georgia where she and her husband enjoyed the car for the last 32 years.

Matching numbers series 1 roadster with Heritage Certificate. Has its original 4.2 liter inline 6 cylinder engine with triple SU carbs and fully synchronized manual gearbox. This car was built in June 1967, making it one of the very last series 1 roadsters built. All original body panels with the exception of the left rocker. No signs of accidents.

The paint quality is very good with very good body gaps. Body is very solid and rust free. Nice dash top. Leather seats were recently done as was the carpeting. The rest of the interior appears to be original and in very good condition for the age of the car. All gauges are in working order. Black canvas top shows a little its age but has no rips and is very usable. Boot cover is original and in very good condition.

Engine runs very good with excellent oil pressure. Suspension is nice and tight. Clutch and gearbox work as they should. Car is ready to use and enjoy.

Recent work:
- new leather front seats
- new wilton wool carpeting
- front brake calipers rebuilt
- new front brake flex hoses
- new rear brake flex hose
- brake fluid serviced
- upper ball joints serviced
- new steering gaiters
- new brake pads
- radiator professionally cleaned
- new cooling and heater hoses
- new hose clamps
- engine oil and filter
- new air filter
- carbs rebuilt
- new boot kit
- new wire wheel knock offs

Includes: spare tire with hold down bracket, jack in the bag, knock off hammer, owner's manual, lubrication chart, old receipts and Jaguar Heritage Certificate

Overall this is a well sorted out, matching numbers, series 1 roadster in a very attractive color combination.

Spam prevention question (must be answered):
The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
