Auction description:
1967 Jaguar XKE Roadster
Offered Without Reserve
Monterey 2012
Consignment # 2085
VIN: J671E15854

This is an absolutely stunning 1967 Jaguar XKE 4.2 roadster that has been immaculately restored over the last 20 years to like new condition! This XKE 140 series has matching numbers and is finished beautifully in Carmen red with biscuit interior. This Jag has 52,000 miles that are believed to be original miles on the car. It has been driven just 2,000 since being completely rebuild. The equipment on the car includes a 4-speed manual transmission, tri-carb SUs, toggle switches, stainless Daytona wire wheels and stainless exhaust.

The engine was rebuilt by master English mechanic Roy Beal and no expense was spared. It has never seen rain or snow, and is kept inside a heated garage. This E type was purchased by the current owner in 1985 and since has been a labor of love in restoring this car to its spectacular current condition, it needs NOTHING and is show quality. Every inch of this car is spotless including the under carriage. It is truly unbelievable and you will have a hard time finding a finer example of the Jaguar XKE.

Merit Partners is honored to present this beautifully restored 1967 Jaguar E-Type Series 1 4.2 Litre. We were flattered when one of our clients gave us the opportunity to represent one of the most beautiful cars ever made. This car was purchased by its previous owner in May of 2013 where he began an extensive restoration project to return the car to factory condition. In November of 2013 this vehicle underwent a full interior restoration that included:

Carpet

Door panels

Seat covers

Center console

Rear bulkhead

Interior metal trim plates

Seat frames

Paint convertible top frame

New Interior Chrome

Shortly after it was given a new vinyl top and boot cover.

While the engine was already in great shape, the owner made a few necessary repairs as needed. This Includes:

Alternator Shield

Spark Plug Cap

Battery Cable

Air Intake Box

Heater Box

On March 24th, 2014 this Jaguar E-Type Series 1 4.2 Litre was Certified by Jaguar Heritage. Following the vehicle's certification, the owner entered the car into the 2014 Palm Beach Cavallino Classic where is showed its factory restoration and placed in its group.

On November 11th, 2015 the car was given an appraisal by Classic Car Appraisal service, garnering an excellent mark for interior and exterior along with a grade of 1/2.

Today, this car shows extremely well with a gorgeous factory interior and an exterior with only minor flaws. The legendary drivability of this car still comes through today as the gears continue to shift effortlessly and the engine runs as smoothly as ever. This is truly a wonderful example of a factory-restored 1967 E-Type Series 1.

Price: $150,000 obo
