Sellers description:
Jaguar E Type S1 4.2 Roadster
A true barn find, this 1967 E Type Roadster, the most desirable model, 4.2 OTS. It has been languishing under a sheet in a garden for many years. This particular car is a very genuine UK RHD, matching numbers, originally Dark Blue with Red interior, one of the more desirable colour combinations.
The car apparently was involved in a minor bump some years ago; it was put into a garage to be repaired, during it's visit to said garage the garage proprietors went into liquidation. The owner eventually recovered his car in a part repaired state, missing a number of items; having apparently spent circa £15,000 on it by this stage, he felt so sick with the whole affair that he parked it in a corner of his garden and there it remained for many years.
So what is for sale? The car is complete mechanically and all in one piece, there are many new parts with the car too, namely: New bonnet (supplied new some years ago, has some very minor spots of surface rust), new boot lid (still in box), refurbished radiator (re-cored), some new windscreen chromes (although not all), new windscreen, new head lights inc. chrome surrounds, bowls, light units, new indicator clusters (front), various rubbers, door handle, side window bases, other odds & sods.
What's missing? Hood frame, door glasses, rear lights, bonnet headlight glasses, seats, bumpers, internal handles, latch mechanisms for doors, bonnet badge bar, there are bound to be other odds & sods.
The engine and gearbox are complete and in situ. including the original carbs.
The condition of the body is very rusty! The bonnet & boot - new parts.
The car does not roll as front brakes rusted on at present.
I have the Jaguar Heritage Certificate for the car proving matching numbers, I have applied for copy V5 (the car is on the system at DVLA) so this should be here next week.
