Car to be at auction 3/11
www.coys.co.uk/auction.php

Auction description:
Lot 346 - 1969 Jaguar E-Type Series 1.5 4.2 Litre Roadster
Estimate: £40,000 - £50,000
Registration Number: TAB 26F
Chassis Number: 1E1957

The delightful example of the series 1.5 E-type roadster on offer today was manufactured on 27th November 1967, though it was 22nd February 1968 before it found its first owner through dealer P.J. Evans. By 1988, with 64,939 miles on the clock, some restoration was required so noted Jaguar specialists P & K Thornton were commissioned to restore TAB 26F to pristine order.
By 1995 further remedial work was desired so the Jaguar was entrusted to Naylor Brothers of Shipley for a thorough coachwork restoration with a final total of the invoices exceeding £14,000. Now nicely mellowed and settled in, having covered only around 8,000 miles since the original P & K Thornton restoration, the result is a splendid matching numbers roadster in very fine overall condition. The Carmen red paintwork is still gleaming and the cream leather interior has a lovely patina.
The history file contains the current V5C registration document, an MoT certificate valid until 18th August 2011, along with a number of old MoT certificates and the old V5 logbook. Also included are an album of photographs of the P & K Thornton restoration and a file of invoices for the Naylor Bros Restoration.

How very strange that this is described as an S 1.5 although it has an S1 bonnet and S1 interior.

Spam prevention question (must be answered):
The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
