Built on 11 November 1965 and first registered on 7 January 1966. This Series 1 Fixed Head Coupe was originally delivered in Carmen Red, before being repainted in British Racing Green. It is an original right hand drive car with its original registration number. It has been with its original registration number. It has been with its current owner for 10 years and has recently had an overhaul at Barkaways. The British Racing Green bodywork is in great condition, and the front nose has recently been repainted. There are some minor age related marks around the car commensurate with the car's age and mileage with some bubbling paint above the offside headlight. The chrome trim is in excellent condition while the panel lines appear even throughout.
During the vendor's ownership the headlamps have been upgraded to a HID system, with spotlights fitted in the front grill area, the original grill is included in the sale. The car sits on D Type alloy wheels, a popular modification. The interior is in excellent condition with some wear to the driver's seat base. The leather is free from rips and tears with the rest of the interior in fantastic condition. The seats have been upgraded to provide more comfort. It has been well maintained with the last service at 104,911 miles during July 2019 at a cost of £14,000. During 2020 it was fitted with a new fuel pump and hose, and before that with new Burlen carburettors.
While the car is mechanically highly original, a set of Sigma big valve gas tuned heads have been fitted to the engine. The car passed its last MoT in May 2018 with no advisories. All the tyres have plenty of tread and are in great condition. The large history folder includes the Jaguar Heritage certificate and comes with a large number of spare parts. This Fixed Head Coupe is in fantastic condition and is a well documented example, it would make a great addition to any classic car collection.
