For sale on Carsales.com.au: note that car number indicates that the car is a coupe, not an OTS.

"A truly superb car that really stands out in a crowd. This car has a powerful 4.2 litre engine.
44000km on the clock.

Car is in immaculate condition.

This Unique Jaguar E Type 1968 (No Badge) is exceptional value at $107,000. Rego paid until May 2015. It is a convertible. It comes with a complete roadworthy certificate.

Club permit paid to May 2015 - 33668H
Engine No. 7E172899"

There are some oddities about the car numbers. First - from Clausager - on Ser 1 1/2 OTS body numbers are 4E1001 to 4E10574, FHC's are 4E20001 to approx 4E27804. Chassis numbers for OTS RHD are 1E1864 to 1E2183, and for FHC RHD are 1E21584 to 1E38814 so both the posted numbers are for a FHC.

Finally the engine number shown is 1E17289-9. That is the same engine number in my '68 ots that I've owned since 1972, so unless Jaguar made two blocks with the same number the number on this red car is bogus.

Spam prevention question (must be answered):
The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
