Ebay item 7/20/09
www.classicshowcase.com/

Sellers description:
This is an original, Driver level, 1969 Jaguar XKE FHC with only two owners since new. In its original color combination a Willow Green exterior and Cinnamon interior with only 53,000 original miles. The headliner is in its original biscuit, the seats and some of the panels are biscuit. Complete with factory air, chrome wire wheels original Blauplunk AM/FM radio. All maintenance and service receipts dating back to the first owner, an airplane pilot, will accompany the car. Recently serviced. The car would benefit from a rechrome and it's a factory AC car but it's missing components. This is a great entry level collector car. Drive and enjoy it while fixing the aesthetic needs it has, if wished.

Car to be at auction 8/11
www.rmauctions.com/FeatureCars.cfm

Auction description:
1969 Jaguar E-Type Series II 4.2-Liter Fixed Head Coupe
Chassis No. 1R25482
Estimate: $60,000-$80,000 US
AUCTION DATE: Saturday, August 20, 2011
OFFERED WITHOUT RESERVE

- Only two previous owners and approximately 53,000 miles from new
- Rare original-specification Willow Green exterior with Biscuit leather interior
- Complete with history and receipts dating to first owner

With just two owners and approximately 53,000 miles from new, this 1969 Series II Fixed-Head Coupe clearly benefits from careful maintenance throughout its life. Classic Showcase recently restored the car, including the bodywork and panel fitting, in preparation for a complete refinish in the original Willow Green, followed by color sanding and buffing. The interior was reupholstered in Biscuit leather, including the seats, a new console and new door panels, along with a new headliner and new carpeting. New rubber, seals and hardware were installed as required, and the car's brightwork has been re-plated. With recent service work including a tune-up and oil change, as well as interior and exterior detailing, this honest low-mileage E-Type is road-ready and includes classic chrome wire wheels and factory-fitted air conditioning. The car is complete with extensive history and service receipts dating back to its first owner.

Car to return to auction 1/12

Oh, no! Looks like the original interior, which still can be seen in the photos from 2009, was "Cinnamon" and very similar in appearance to the earlier (Series 1) "Tan" and "Light Tan" with a very brown tone for the vinyl and carpets. This "restored" result is closer to Willow Green / Beige, "Biscuit" was A Series 1 interior and never available for a Series 2 car FWIW. Why, oh why, is it so hard to "restore" these cars right? Cheers!

Additional description from the above 1/12 auction:
1969 Jaguar E-Type Series II 4.2-Liter Fixed Head Coupe
Chassis No. 1R25482
Estimate: $60,000-$80,000 US
AUCTION DATE:
To be auctioned on
Thursday, January 19, 2012
OFFERED WITHOUT RESERVE
• Only two previous owners and about 53,000 miles from new
• Rare original-specification Willow Green exterior with Biscuit leather interior
• Recent service by marque specialist Classic Showcase

This particular E-Type has registered only 53,000 miles and a limited number of owners from new. It has been well maintained, including a recent service by Classic Showcase. The work included a complete repaint, color sand and buffing in its original color of Willow Green. The interior, including the leather seats, new leather console, new door panels, new carpet and the headliner was reupholstered in the lovely factory color of Biscuit. Classic Showcase also rebuilt the carburetors, performed a major tune-up and changed all fluids. The engine and transmission were removed, disassembled and resealed, as were the heads and front and rear seals. The clutch system was replaced, and the flywheel was resurfaced. The front suspension was removed, disassembled and rebuilt with new bushings and ball joints. Furthermore, new wheel bearings, rear half-shaft U Joints and a new alternator were installed. New rubber, seals and hardware were also installed as needed. Finally, the brightwork was re-plated, and the car was re-fitted with its chrome wire wheels. An honest, low mileage E-Type Series II, this is not only a wonderful driver's car but one with a fantastic original color combination that is at once both elegant and eye-catching.
