Sellers description:
1970 Jaguar E-Type series II 4.2 Fixed Head Coupe. This fine example, is a matching number automobile. A time capsule that has had a pampered life, never needing a restoration, shouting it's correctness and originality in every way, as when it crossed the pond from Coventry, England. The only character trait not original to the car is a beautiful repaint in Glasurit #302, performed to the highest standards in its original coveted color of Regency Red, and of course new base rubber when reassembled. An accident free example, no filler, and the only discerning rust resides in the battery tray. Beautiful fit and finish with perfect gaps. This gem is an absolute dream to drive...no runs, no drips, no errors. No unexplainable phantom rattles or noises. No smoking upon starts or consumption of oil. Starts immediately with a quick turn of the key. SU carbs are tweaked in perfectly...Idles, accelerates and effortlessly glides through its power bands, resonating the infamous XKE throaty tones. Transmission is equally as impressive. All gauges amazingly work (even the clock keeps perfect time). No lucas "Prince of Darkness" curse here. Bright work is very acceptable. Wire wheels exceptional. Glass is all Triplex, original and nice. The upholstery is simple stellar for it's age...only adding majestically to it's heritage. No cracks in the seats and the dash is near flawless. We all know how worn out the word patina has become, but I can not help myself...and that wonderful vintage Jaguar (no smoker) smell. It will need very little TLC. The only service I would perform in the near future, is charge the AC, "if needed or wanted", and a fresh set of shocks, (they still preform well as we speak). Steering is extremely tight and responsive. Recent battery and tune. Original tool kit and owners manual. Unequivocally a blue chip investment, as Fixed Heads have skyrocketed. Not often do you come across a find such as this. As an industry standard quote, "a car is factory original only once in it's life".
