This 1970 Jaguar XKE 2+2 is a running project that was reportedly abandoned at a repair shop after the engine was rebuilt over two decades ago. It was acquired in 2019 by the seller, who subsequently performed a tune-up and brought the vehicle to running condition. The car is finished in silver over a burgundy leather interior and power is from a 4.2-liter inline-six paired with a three-speed automatic transmission. This XKE is offered at no reserve with a clean California title in the seller’s name.
The car wears an aged silver finish, and evidence of prior paintwork is noted on the driver’s rear quarter panel. Rust and corrosion is present around the body and under the battery tray.
Steel wheels wear chrome hubcaps and beauty rings and are fitted with a mixed set of older Firestone, Bridgestone, and Michelin tires.
The interior is upholstered in burgundy with a matching console, door panels, and carpets. Tears are noted in the upholstery and carpeting, and photos showing the floors are viewable in the gallery. Factory Smiths instrumentation is retained, including a five-digit odometer that reads just over 31k miles. Total mileage is unknown.
The 4.2 liter inline-six features a pair of Zenith-Stromberg sidedraft carburetors and was factory-rated at 245 horsepower when new. Shifting is through a three-speed automatic transmission. The engine was reportedly rebuilt over 20 years ago and was tuned-up and brought to running condition by the seller.

Lot #73608
This 1970 Jaguar XKE 2+2 was acquired by the selling dealer in March 2021 after it was previously featured in a March 2020 auction on BaT and was refurbished under prior ownership with paint and body work as well as interior upholstery. The car is finished in silver over a burgundy leather interior and is powered by a 4.2-liter inline-six paired with a three-speed automatic transmission. Equipment includes a wood-rimmed steering wheel, air conditioning, a dual exhaust system, twin Zenith carburetors, chrome bumpers with overriders, and 15″ steel wheels. This XKE 2+2 is offered by the selling dealer with a clean California title.
The car has been refinished in silver following bodywork and corrosion repairs to the roof and front end, and prior bodywork was carried out on the driver-side quarter panel. Features include a chrome driver-side mirror, pop-out rear windows, chrome bumpers with overriders, and painted dual exhaust tips.
Chrome 15″ steel wheels with Jaguar hub caps are fitted with a mixed set of older Firestone, Bridgestone, and Michelin tires. The four-wheel disc brakes feature inboard rear rotors.
The burgundy leather front bucket seats were reupholstered along with a matching center console, door panels, and carpets under prior ownership. Details include air conditioning, a locking glove box, chrome trim, and crank windows.
A wood-rimmed steering wheel fronts Smiths instrumentation that consists of a 160-mph speedometer, a tachometer with a 5k-rpm redline, an analog clock, and gauges for voltage, coolant temperature, and fuel level. The nonfunctional five-digit odometer shows 31k miles, and total mileage is unknown.
The 4.2-liter inline-six is equipped with dual Zenith carburetors and two electric cooling fans. The engine was reportedly rebuilt prior to being abandoned at a repair shop over two decades ago, and was serviced with a tune-up under prior ownership.
Power is sent to the rear wheels through a three-speed automatic transmission. The dual exhaust system was partially replaced under prior ownership.
