Sold by Pendine Historic Cars of Bicester in February 2020. Seller's description below
    www.pendine.com/cars-for-sale/1973-jaguar-e-type-series-iii-roadster/

1973 E Type Series III Roadster in fantastic condition having been cherished throughout its life. Matching numbers. Original Right Hand Drive. Exceptional body. This home market Series 3 was built in July 1973 and dispatched via Howells Cardiff. The car remained in the UK until 1985 when it was exported to Germany.

During 1991 and 1992 it was subject to a complete nut and bolt body restoration, including a repaint in British Racing Green with contrasting black trim. Further work was undertaken in 2002, this time focusing on the mechanicals. Its V12 engine was subject to a complete rebuild by Mauss in Koln Germany, whilst the gearbox was similarly subject to an overhaul. All of this work is documented in 100s of photographs.

Extensively serviced in 2014 including attending to some corrosion on the bonnet, replacement of the rear swing arms and fitting a new clutch. Now repatriated to its birthplace, this V12 is in fantastic condition having clearly been cherished and well maintained throughout its life. The final incarnation of the iconic E Type, and as a result the most developed of them all, is a superb European cruiser, and this one stands head and shoulders above the rest.

The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
