Coys auction 11/19/1997 London, England lot #434. Sports Car Market report reads:

"RHD, 4-speed, chrome wire wheels, 57,200 miles. Largely original and well maintained, even though the color is peculiar."

This car was first registered in Ireland (NOT UK) and was exported to Australia via the UK (1988) and USA (1997). It was restored to the original scheme and remains in Australia.

Advertised for sale at carsales.com.au 17 July 2024 asking AUD$220,000 plus on-road costs. Car is in Perth, Western Australia. Seller’s description follows:

Heather with Cerise leather, one of only 40 from the factory.  Fully re-sprayed in 2009 and recently re-trimmed by Aldridge. Drives beautifully on original wire wheels. Condition of car suggests original mileage. Matching numbers. Original RHD. Heritage certificate.

Spam prevention question (must be answered):
The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
