Sellers description:
1973 Jaguar E-Type Series III V12 FHC
We are delighted to offer this remarkably original, low mileage and matching numbers Jaguar E-Type onto the market. CRW 15K has covered just 52,000 miles from new and comes to us with a comprehensive history dating back to when the car was four years old with 14276 miles. The E-Type V12 is still in its original colour of Azure Blue and retains its wonderful original upholstery. Records show the E-Type was near the Brownhills area north of Birmingham in 1977 and from 1979 to 1984 in Derby. With 35,562 miles the E-Type moved further north to Sheffield in 1984 where it spent three and half years before moving to York. The E-Type continued to be in regular use with MOT certificates confirming the E-Type had covered 43,906 miles by 1990. The E-Type left York for the Greater Manchester area where it stayed for the next nineteen years. CRW 15K then came back to Yorkshire in 2009, purchased by us with a genuine warranted mileage of 48,000 miles.
On arrival with us we treated the E-Type to brand new brake discs and pads and quickly sold the car to a customer in Scotland who purchased four cars within 18 months. CRW 15K came back to us in part exchange for a Series II FHC and we then sold the car to one of our long term customers in Oakham, Leicestershire in 2009. In 2010 our customer booked the E-Type into a Jaguar specialists for bodywork/paintwork that included new inner and outer wheel arch sections, new sill sections and lower quarter panels. A photographic record of the work details the careful restoration work carried out on the largely original shell. The car was also fitted with a TT super sport exhaust system and oil gauge taking expenditure to almost £7,000 during ownership. In 2011 after 2000 faultless miles, the E-Type came back to us in part exchange and we then sold the V12 to the last owner, another long term customer of ours. At this point the car had covered 50,496 miles. Since 2011, a further 1000 miles has been covered in the car. Over the past seven years, whilst only covering around 150 miles per year, it has been superbly maintained with receipts for over £4,000. Work includes servicing, new brake servo, braided front brake hoses, handbrake pads, new manifold gasket re-conditioned power steering rack, electronic ignition, new anti-roll bar bushes and new bonnet catch.
With thirty six previous MOT certificates we know the E-Type has never spent long periods off the road. CRW 15K has never required full restoration and is still a remarkably original, yet beautifully presented car. Finding honest, original and low mileage UK spec E-Type's like this is rare and we are pleased to have known this superb car for almost ten years. The car comes with inspection reports, tax discs, MOT's, invoices, old logbooks and photographs and retains some wonderful original features. The car has the benefit of a period webasto sunroof, beautifully patinated original leather seats, door cards and beautiful carpets. The bodyshell is superbly straight and original and the engine bay remarkably original. On the road CRW 15k is an absolute delight, it is outstanding in every respect. The V12 engine performs perfectly with excellent oil pressure, the automatic transmission changes smoothly up and down and with power steering, excellent brakes and suspension, the E-Type handles exceptionally well. The car is ideal for regular use, perfect for long distance touring and has proven in ten years of knowing the car to be completely reliable. With lovely deep paintwork and sharp chrome work, this V12 looks superb and is an excellent opportunity.
