Sellers description:
This Series I 3.8 liter E-type is a fully matching number car. The original color was Olde English White and it came through with a red interior. The car was originally dispatched to Germany from the Browns Lane Jaguar Factory. The car came through with kilometers on the odometer. An American military man bought the car from the original owner and had the car sent back to the United States when he was transferred back home. He used the car through the 60's and the 70's in his home state of Tennessee. One day he parked the car up and never used it again. His son eventurally ended up with the car. When the son got it, he wanted to restore it, so he sent it to a body shop. The body shop installed all new Martin Robey floors and inner and outer sills. Needless to say the restoration was getting expensive and the son never had the car finished.I
Even though I do not have a Heritage Certificate I have shown the markings from the factory on the boot lid in the photos, that the car was for Germany dispatch. I do have a clear title. What you see in the pictures is what you get. If something looks missing, it is. There are no additional parts. Obviously the car is for total restoration. It does roll and steer easily so the car can be shipped.

Car to return to auction 8/16

Auction description:
Registration RCA259B
Chassis Number 881503
Engine Number RA6639-9
Estimate £100,000 - £120,000
This exquisite Series I roadster was manufactured on the 28th April 1964 and dispatched to distributor Peter Lindner in Frankfurt, Germany, on the 8th May 1964 with its first owner a Sgt. C McKinzie of the US Forces based in Germany. Highly desirable as it has undergone a nut and bolt restoration deserving of a significant E-Type; it was converted to righthand drive specification and finished in its original and striking colour combination of cream with a contrasting red interior. it also has a black hood with a matching hood cover keeping inclement weather at bay. A V5 document, a Jaguar Heritage Trust Certificate, an Operating, Maintenance and Service Handbook and an MoT test certificate valid until March 2017 accompany the car. A superb example, ready to be enjoyed with the roof down on the open road.
