ebay Item # 2419509004 6/14/03
Sellers comment:
This car was purchased 4 years ago from a classic car dealer in California who had several E-Types ranging from concours restoration levels to projects. Having purchased and "still own" several British cars, this XKE was easy to identify as a "solid". It has been started or driven just about every weekend for the past 4 years. All of the routine maintenance, tune-ups, oil changes, lube, etc, I have performed myself. This car has had a vast amount of TLC and is currently in a heated garage. Having been around XKE's most of my life, I am very familar and technically competent with the marque and this car is a "2" driver level. Not a concours level---I purchased the car to be enjoyable and driven. This car resides in Anchorage, AK-----so if you can't afford the shipping----please don't bid.
Vehicle Condition
Paint--Good, few very faint spots, a couple of rock chips here and there. Paint is known as a "Twenty Footer." Engine---Excellent Orignal 3.8L engine---strong--see photos. Transmission----Excellent, upgraded to a fully synchro 4.2L transmission. Interior---Good, the previous owner changed out the black dash and metal console with a biscuit brown leather cover. See Photos---it looks great. The 3.8L seats have been replaced with the comfortable 4.2L seats. Carpet has replaced the leather in the back of the car. See Photos. Recent R&R--Exhaust, speedometer & cables, manual electric fan switch---I don't trust the original fan thermostat. Tune-up, complete fluid change. To much TLC to detail everything.

Hello, the machine looks great. I'm in the process of restoring 888765 and will need a new front to back exhaust system along with a lot of other things. What kind of exhaust is on yours? I like the rear resonator look. Very original from what I can see. Thanks, Dave

1963 Jaguar XKE Series I 3.8 Fixed-Head Coupe
Chassis no. 888530
Engine no. RA1612-9
Body no. V5687
This Jaguar is a fantastic example of the highly sought after Series 1 3.8-liter XKE with covered headlights, toggle dash switches, center console and arm rest. Described by the vendor as being an excellent, driver-level car this XKE has been upgraded with the desirable full synchromesh 4-speed transmission and later 4.2-liter bucket seats for improved comfort. A cosmetic restoration has freshened the appearance of the Jaguar, with a complete repaint, wet sand and buff, chromework re-plated where necessary, the body rubber replaced, some upholstery re-trimmed, new tires fitted, and a period looking sound system with hidden IPod jack was installed. Mechanically the car benefits from a new clutch system, new front and rear engine seals and a pair of new manifolds. Showing just over 1,600 miles since completion, the Jaguar is finished in the lovely combination of British Racing Green with biscuit trim and sits on excellent chrome wires. Well maintained and in good order, this XKE is sure to be enjoyed by the next owner.
