Sellers description:
1971 Jaguar E-type Roadster. This gorgeous car is finished in one of the most desirable color combinations of black with tan interior. The date of manufacture of this Jaguar was August 30 of 1970 and the date of dispatch was September 17 of 1970. This is matching numbers car with a Heritage Certificate. We purchased this E-type from the previous owner who had this car for over 20 years. The previous owner had a few Jaguars in his collection and it was previously restored. The car was good/solid driver when we purchased it, but needed to be refreshed both mechanically and cosmetically. We invested a good amount of time and money to make this car a very nice driver. This is one of nicest running and driving Series 2 cars we have had. The compression is great and the results were: 1)-140psi, 2)-140, 3)-145, 4)-150,5)-150, 6)-145. The oil pressure is also excellent. The clutch feels great and there are no noises in the gears, as it shifts really nice. This car accelerates quickly with plenty of power and also handles excellent. At high speeds, this Jaguar feels very tight and an alignment has been done. The brakes are excellent and the front calipers were rebuilt. The rear end does not make any unusual noises and is solid. The carburetors have been recently tuned and rebuilt. I have driven this car in the very warm NC summer heat/humidity and this car holds temperature perfectly and does not overheat.
The engine compartment has been fully detailed/restored with powder coating and restoration of many engine components. New seals have been replaced in the engine compartment. All wiring was checked and a new wiring loom (to protect wiring) was installed. All switches and contacts were cleaned. The interior carpet was all replaced. The seats had new bottom seat foams, rubber diaphragms, J -hooks, new head rest foam and new interior sill covers all installed. In addition, a new convertible top boot was installed. Furthermore, a new trunk interior kit was also installed. The exterior paint is beautiful on the car and has a mirror like finish as we buffed and polished the exterior of the car. The underside is solid and there is no rust on this Jaguar E-type.
Overall this Jaguar E-type Roadster is a great driver level car that is stunning in appearance. Also, it is a blast to drive. This is a matching numbers car and does come with a Heritage Certificate. This Jaguar comes with recent receipts of work done as well.
