Ebay item 1/15/04

Current bid $17,602 (Reserve not met), 2 bids, 6 days left in auction.

Sellers comment:
Beautiful black XKE convertible with all new tan leather with black custom piping. The entire interior from the windshield chrome to the carpet has been completely renewed with all correct materials.

All interior chrome including around the windshield and sun visor brackets (at a cost of over $1,000.) Were replaced.

The engine and transmission were pulled and all seals and gaskets were replaced.

The brakes, fuel and cooling system were cleaned and replaced approximately 2 years ago.

This is a 99% rust free original vehicle that was stored for many years in Colorado by a collector with over 100 vehicles.

Within 1000 miles of being on the road again, the transmission boiled over due to being over filled and caught the interior on fire. The gentleman that owned the car at the time was paid off by the insurance company and I bought it from the insurance company.

As the car had a charred interior, I replaced it completely as well as all the correct factory wiring from the headlights to the tail lights.

It now has a good negotiable blue Texas title with the notation of previous salvage on it.

The only thing that you could do to improve this car would be to replace the tires. The ones that are on it are like new but have been sitting too long.

The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
