Car to be at auciton 9/15
    www.auctionsamerica.com/events/feature-lots.cfm

    Auction description:
    1974 Jaguar E-Type Series III V-12 Roadster
To be offered on Saturday, September 5, 2015
    Estimate: $ 65,000 - $ 85,000

    5.3-liter V-12 engine
    Automatic transmission
    31,598 believed actual miles
    Chrome wire wheels
    Four Stromberg carburetors
    Air conditioning
    Hardtop and soft top
    Owner's manual and other books

This Jaguar is finished in Turquoise over a tan interior; a very desirable color combination. The car is complete with both a hardtop and a soft top. The center console has a leather armrest and leather-rimmed steering wheel is fitted to the car. The 5.3-liter, 272-hp V-12 engine is fueled by four Stromberg carburetors and connected to an automatic transmission. This Jaguar has air conditioning, power four-wheel hydraulic disc brakes, chrome wire wheels and an AM/FM radio.

The Jaguar offered here has had two owners from new, with only one repaint, and is showing 31,598 miles which are believed to be actual to the car. The car is presented in tidy condition and comes with the jack, owner's manual, parts catalogue and other books.

    Ebay item 2/15/16
MotorCarTrader.com is very excited to offer another great sports car and Jaguar E-type. This rare and special 1974 Jaguar E-type Roadster had only two owners since new. It was sold originally to P.J. Haroldson of Ft. Wayne, Indiana by Donato and Sons Motors, Inc. in Logansport IN. The first owner owned this great car from 2-27-1975 to 7-13-1989 and placed 25,000 miles on the car since new and during this time. It was then sold to Mr. Stafford of Ft. Wayne Indiana. The car was meticulously maintained until it we purchased the car from Mr. Stafford on 9-21-2015 with 31,603 original miles. The car is in the original color and rare combination of Turquoise with Cinnamon interior. Only 137 Jaguar E-type Series III cars were painted Turquoise from 1972 to 1974. This car has been repainted in the exact original color and the paint is excellent. The cinnamon interior has also undergone some refreshening. The seat covers have been recovered in the correct leather. In addition, the center armrest has been recovered. The rest of the interior is in remarkable and beautiful original condition. The soft top has also been replaced with an original style vinyl top. This is a matching numbers car. Furthermore, the car comes with the original factory hard top that came with the car when it was new. The hardtop was repainted in the original black color with new seals, but all the chrome and headliner are original. Another change was that the car originally came with steel wheels. Mr. Stafford switched the wheels (as they look much nicer) and hubs to Chrome wire wheels. I do have the original steel wheels and hubs which do go with the car. Some of the work we did to the car once we purchased it and observations when we worked on this great car.
Windshield wipers only worked on one speed. We replaced the faulty switch. All the wiring is very clean and well kept.
Underside, under engine block and suspension completely degreased and cleaned. A new full stainless steel exhaust was installed after the underside was cleaned. New lower ball joints were installed. This is one of the nicest original undersides you will find on a Jaguar etype Series III. This has all original floors and solid throughout with no rust on this car.
We did have an oil leak which was coming from the cam towers. A very common problem for these cars and leaks onto the exhaust cross over which makes these cars smoke. We took apart the top half of the engine to reseal the cam towers. We cleaned the engine block by hand to get rid of any oil and grime that was leaking onto the block. Painted, cleaned and polished engine components before reinstalling. A fresh valve adjustment was completed. The 4 intake manifolds, 2 cam covers and oil caps were all powder coated. We set up and rebuilt carburetors. This car runs and drives exceptional. It is very smooth and can be driven anywhere.
The air cleaner horns were a bit discolored, so we restored the back to their original color while keeping the original stickers in place.
A brand new and full radiator and cooling hose kit was installed in the front of the engine. This is a larger job, as on a car of this age, the hoses do not always last, so we decided to replace all of them.
The brakes were all gone through. This included a new master cylinder, new vacuum booster assembly, new brake lines, brake unions removed and cleaned and bleed the entire system. Rear calipers cleaned and cleared. All new vacuum lines installed for the booster. The front brake pads were replaced.
A new water pump was installed. A new idler pulley was also installed.
    A compression test was done by cylinder and this car has excellent compression : 1)-120PSI 2)-125 3)-120 4)-130 5)-125 6)-120 7)-120 8)-125 9)-125 10)-120 11)-130 12)-120.
The Air Conditioning blows very cold and the fans work great. Everything is working as it should on this great car.

This is an exceptional Jaguar E-type overall. These cars are very difficult to find in this original condition that you can actually drive. In addition, with documented original miles of 31,774, extensive work performed, only two documented owners and in this rare color combination with the original hard top. It runs and drives perfect and very smooth. The transmission shifts and down shifts nicely with no hesitation. It is one of the nicest driving and original Series III Jaguars you will find available, as Jaguar E-type Series III V12 cars are very hard to find this nice and well cared for. In addition, difficult to find with the above work just completed. This car is an automatic and for longevityand for driving, the automatic is much smoother and much easier to drive. This is a wonderful representation of these legendary roadsters.
